12V PSU for NVR: keep recording, even without 230 V
A power cut should not interrupt your footage. With the Ajax 12V PSU for NVR, your NVR runs directly on a low-voltage source, so recording continues if the mains supply fails.
The 12V PSU for NVR replaces the standard 110/230 V mains power supply in your Ajax NVR with a low-voltage unit. The recorder then runs directly on 8-16 V DC from, for example, a battery or UPS. Ideal for locations without a fixed mains connection or with an unstable power supply. Compatible with the Ajax NVR (8- and 16-channel).
What this power supply module offers
Recording during a power cut
The NVR keeps recording on a battery or UPS, even if the mains supply fails.
Directly on 8-16 V
Connects to mobile and off-grid installations without a separate inverter.
Battery protection
Set the jumper to the 12.1-16 V mode for automatic shutdown at around 10.35 V, so that your battery does not run flat.
Quick to install
You can fit the internal board in minutes in the original NVR housing using a PH1 screwdriver.
Neat cabling
Standard DC jack plus the supplied connection adapter (recommended AWG 12-14).
Stable output
Nominal output 12 V, maximum 2 A, with overvoltage protection.

Where do you use the 12V PSU for NVR?
Anywhere you want to record but do not have a reliable 230 V supply: construction sites and temporary site cabins, mobile installations in vehicles or trailers, events and pop-up locations, and remote sites powered by solar energy or a battery. You can also keep surveillance running at premises with an unstable mains supply.
The board fits in the original housing of the NVR and uses the existing SmartBracket. An installer can swap the mains power supply in a few minutes; have the work carried out by a qualified electrician.

Complete the system
Battery or UPS
A 12 V battery or UPS as the low-voltage source keeps the NVR running during a mains power failure.
Ajax NVR
Intended for the Ajax NVR (8- or 16-channel) with Ajax cameras.
Frequently asked questions
Will my NVR keep recording during a power cut?
Yes, provided that you use a battery or UPS as the low-voltage source. The NVR then runs directly on 8-16 V and recording continues if the mains supply fails.
Which NVR models are supported?
The 8-channel and 16-channel Ajax NVR. The board fits in the original housing and uses the existing SmartBracket.
Does the module protect my battery from deep discharge?
Yes. With the jumper in the 12,1-16 V mode, the power supply switches off automatically at around 10,35 V, so that the battery is not discharged too deeply.
Can I install this myself?
The board can be fitted in a few minutes, but replacing the mains power supply must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
