What is an Ajax integration module?
An integration module connects Ajax to wired or external systems. There are two directions: modules that add wired detectors to your Ajax system (Transmitter and MultiTransmitter), and modules that connect wireless Ajax detectors to another panel or system (uartBridge and ocBridge Plus).
Which module do I need?
That depends on what you want to connect:
- Add wired detector(s) to Ajax: the Transmitter (1 detector) or MultiTransmitter 3EOL (up to 18 zones)
- Make Ajax detectors work with a wired panel: the ocBridge Plus (contact outputs per zone)
- Integrate Ajax detectors into a third-party system or smart home: the uartBridge (digital UART connection)
What is the difference between the Transmitter and the MultiTransmitter?
The Transmitter integrates a single wired detector and runs on CR123A batteries; ideal for a standalone detector. The MultiTransmitter 3EOL connects up to 18 zones, has its own mains power supply with space for a backup battery and powers the connected detectors. For a complete wired system, the MultiTransmitter is the right choice.
What is the difference between the uartBridge and the ocBridge Plus?
Both bring wireless Ajax detectors to another system. The uartBridge uses a digital UART data bus and passes on the status of each device, for systems and smart homes that read that protocol. The ocBridge Plus offers separate OC outputs (8 security and 4 service zones) that fit the zone inputs of almost any wired panel.
Do I need an Ajax hub for every module?
Not always. The Transmitter and MultiTransmitter report INTO an Ajax system and therefore need an Ajax hub. The uartBridge and ocBridge Plus are themselves the receiver and work without an Ajax hub: they connect Ajax detectors to another system.
Which Ajax detectors are supported?
The uartBridge and ocBridge Plus work with the wireless Ajax Jeweller detectors: MotionProtect (Plus), DoorProtect, GlassProtect, CombiProtect, FireProtect (Plus), LeaksProtect and SpaceControl. The Transmitter and MultiTransmitter work with third-party wired detectors that have an NC/NO or EOL output.
Will my wired system keep working during a power failure?
The MultiTransmitter has its own mains power supply with space for a 12V backup battery (up to 30 hours). The Transmitter runs on CR123A batteries. This keeps your integration online even without mains power.
What is the range of the modules?
All modules communicate via the secure two-way Jeweller protocol. The MultiTransmitter, uartBridge and ocBridge Plus reach up to 2,000 metres in open space; the Transmitter up to 1,600 metres. Indoors the range is lower because of walls and obstacles.
