Detect fire and CO early
Ajax fire detection warns you of smoke, heat and carbon monoxide and integrates these detectors into the same wireless system as your intruder protection. In the event of fire or CO, you receive a notification in the app straight away and the alarm sounds.

Why choose Ajax fire protection?
Fires often start faster than you think: an old charger, a forgotten pan or a faulty appliance is enough. A smoke detector warns you in time, even when you are asleep. In the Netherlands, a smoke detector has been mandatory on every floor since 1 July 2022. With Ajax you choose detectors that not only sound a loud alarm, but also send a notification to your phone straight away and, in the event of a fire, set off all the sirens in your system at the same time.
What does Ajax fire detection detect?
You choose what to measure in each room:
- Smoke for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways
- Heat for the kitchen, loft or boiler room, where steam or vapour would cause a standard smoke detector to give false alarms
- Carbon monoxide (CO) from a central heating boiler, stove or open fireplace
The FireProtect 2 combines smoke, heat and optionally CO in one detector. The first-generation FireProtect measures smoke and temperature.
What are common causes of fire in the home?
- Cooking, especially on gas
- Candles, cigarettes and open fires
- Central heating boiler or meter cupboard
- Faulty or old electrical appliances and chargers
What is Ajax fire detection equipped with?
- Optical smoke sensor that also detects small smoke particles
- Temperature sensor that recognises a rapid rise in temperature
- Smart algorithms that prevent false alarms
- Protection against tampering and removal
- Notifications and control via the free Ajax app
- Available in white and black
- Bracket, mounting hardware and battery are included
Which power supply do you choose: RB, SB or AC?
The detectors are available in three versions, so that they run on battery or on mains power:
- RB: replaceable battery, up to 7 years
- SB: sealed battery, up to 10 years
- AC: fixed 230 V mains power
How do you install an Ajax fire detector?
The detector is ready for use out of the box and the battery is already fitted. You pair it with the Ajax Hub in a few steps via the app. The battery models require no tools or wiring.
Where is the best place to fit a smoke detector?
- On every floor of your home
- On the ceiling, at least 50 cm from the wall and from a corner
- Not in draughty places
- Not close to a ventilation point
- Not above a radiator or other heating
- For extra safety, also in bedrooms, the utility room and rooms where devices are charged
How do you maintain your smoke detector?
- Test the detector once a month with the test button
- Replace the battery as soon as the detector gives a low battery signal (applies to the RB version)
- Dust the detector regularly with a dry cloth or the vacuum cleaner; do not use any cleaning product
