App control

Arm and disarm your alarm wherever you are. In the event of a burglary, fire or leak you receive a push notification immediately, and with a MotionCam you can see photos of what is happening straight away.

Grade 2 components

The detectors and hubs meet Grade 2 according to EN 50131. They communicate with the hub in encrypted form, and the hub stays online via the SIM card and the backup battery in the event of a power or internet outage.

Insurance requirement?

If your insurer asks for VEB or BORG certification, a certified company must install and maintain the system. This involves additional costs and depends on our service area, so please discuss it with us beforehand.

Why Ajax

The best protection, down to the detail

Ajax works with heavily secured wireless protocols and separate apps for the user and the installer. Do you want to go a step further? Then choose an alarm receiving centre subscription as an additional layer. Besides top performance, Ajax stands out in design and ease of use: the fastest-growing brand in intruder and fire detection.

Is there an insurance requirement? Then certification requirements apply (VEB or BORG). Below you can read what this involves, or contact us.

Insurance requirements & certification

Do you have an insurance requirement?

If an insurance requirement applies, the alarm system must be installed and maintained by a VEB- or BORG-certified company. An alarm system is an electronic measure, the so-called E-measure. For a certificate, the organisational, structural and electronic measures and the alarm response are aligned with one another.

This involves a fair amount of paperwork: a risk class inventory, a programme of requirements, a security plan, a quotation, a logbook and a maintenance contract.

A certified installation involves additional costs and depends on our working area; please discuss this with us in advance.

Is there no insurance requirement? Then a certified system is usually not necessary. An Ajax alarm system still protects your home fully, without the administration and costs that come with certification.

Which hub suits you?

The difference lies in the connection, photo verification (MotionCam), the capacity and the system type. Quickly find the hub that suits your situation.

Frequently asked questions

Everything about the Ajax alarm system

General & choice
Is Ajax a good alarm system?

Ajax is one of the best alarm systems at the moment. Thanks to the extensive range, you cover every form of detection: motion, glass break, open state, water and fire, supplemented with control and accessories.

What is the best alarm system for the home?

For most homes, a wireless Grade 2 system such as Ajax is the best choice: strong security, app control and easy to expand. The right configuration depends on your home, which is why we advise on a tailored basis.

Why choose Ajax rather than another brand?

Ajax combines Grade 2 security with a sleek design and user-friendly apps. The brand is growing fast in intrusion and fire detection, and Secures has been an official Pro Partner since 2017, with knowledge of the entire range.

Can I put together an Ajax set myself?

Yes, with our configurator you put together a kit yourself with exactly the sensors and accessories you need. If you are unsure about the right combination, we are happy to help.

Does Ajax also work for a business or shop?

Ajax is suitable for homes and for smaller business premises. For larger or complex premises we recommend the Hub 2 Plus or Hub Hybrid because of their higher capacity and expansion options.

Can I expand an Ajax system later?

Yes, Ajax hubs support up to 100 or 200 devices. You can add sensors, cameras or controls at any time without replacing the existing system.

Is Ajax suitable for rental homes?

Yes, because Ajax is fully wireless, you do not need to drill or run cables. Components are easy to move or take with you when you move house.

Costs & insurance
What does an Ajax alarm system cost?

A complete Ajax starter kit starts from € 344,40. The final price depends on the number of sensors, cameras and accessories you need; with the configurator you put together a tailored set.

What does it cost to have an Ajax system installed?

Professional installation by Secures starts from € 349 (normally € 473,75). The final price depends on the size of the system and follows from the intake.

Are there monthly costs with Ajax?

No, an Ajax system works without a subscription as standard. If you want 24/7 follow-up by an alarm receiving centre, this is an optional subscription that you can add.

Does Ajax meet the requirements of my insurer?

If an insurance requirement applies, the alarm system must be installed and maintained by a VEB or BORG certified company. Whether you meet the requirement depends on your risk class; this follows from an assessment, not from the brand alone. With a certificate, the organisational, structural and electronic measures and the alarm response are aligned with one another. A certified installation also depends on our service area. Please get in touch and we will look together at what is needed.

What is a risk class and which grade do I need?

A risk class indicates how much security an insurer requires for your situation, based on factors such as value, location and type of property. Only after this assessment can it be determined which grade (for example Grade 2) and which components are required. Secures carries out this intake for you.

Can I get a subsidy or discount on an alarm system?

Some insurers offer a premium discount for a certified alarm system, but this differs per insurer and policy. Check this beforehand with your own insurer or ask us for advice during the intake.

Does the installation price include materials?

The installation rates stated are starting rates for the basic installation. Additional components, extra work or an extensive configuration are quoted separately on the basis of the intake.

Technology & use
How does an Ajax alarm system work?

All sensors communicate wirelessly via the Jeweller protocol with a central Hub. In the event of an alert, the Hub immediately sends a push notification to the app, so you can see what is happening wherever you are and respond yourself.

Do I need internet for Ajax?

The Hub works with Ethernet and also with two built-in SIM cards as a backup, so that the system stays connected even during an internet outage. Some hubs also support Wi-Fi.

Can I control Ajax with my phone?

Yes, with the user app you control the system remotely: arming and disarming, viewing notifications and checking camera images. Installers use a separate installer app of their own.

Does Ajax work without wifi during a power failure?

The Hub has an internal backup battery and can stay online via the SIM card connection, even without power or internet. This keeps the system active during an outage.

Can I view camera footage via the Ajax app?

Yes, Ajax cameras and the photo verification of sensors can be viewed directly in the app. This way you see an image of what is happening straight away when an alert comes in.

Is Ajax suitable for pets?

Many Ajax motion detectors have adjustable sensitivity and a pet-friendly mode, so that smaller pets do not cause false alarms. During the intake we tailor the settings to your situation.

What is the difference between Jeweller and Fibra?

Jeweller is the wireless protocol from Ajax and is used in most components. Fibra is the wired variant, available via the Hub Hybrid, and is intended for projects where a fixed connection is preferred.

Maintenance & service life
How long do the batteries of Ajax sensors last?

This varies per component, but Ajax sensors are designed for long battery life, often several years under normal use. The app warns you automatically well before a battery runs out.

Do I need to have my Ajax system maintained?

Ajax requires little maintenance thanks to the self-test that the hub performs periodically. If you still want certainty, you can have a periodic check by Secures scheduled.

What do I do if a sensor reports a fault?

The app shows immediately which sensor has a fault and what the cause is, for example a low battery or a poor signal. If you cannot resolve it yourself, our customer service will help you further.

Can I replace sensors myself or does an installer need to do it?

In most cases you can replace individual sensors yourself; pairing them with the Hub is simple via the app. If you are unsure, or for larger changes, you can also have our installers do this.
