Fire detection

Smoke and heat detectors for the EN54 range

Choose smoke or heat detection, with or without a built-in siren, depending on the room and the project design.

The Smoke detector uses a dual-spectrum optical sensor (EN 54-7), the Heat detector two thermistors for threshold and rapid temperature rise (EN 54-5). The Sounder variants have a built-in 85 dB siren (EN 54-3). All detectors are wireless, addressable and run on a pre-installed battery.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Smoke detector or heat detector?

A smoke detector (Smoke) responds to smoke particles and is suitable for most rooms. A heat detector (Heat) responds to temperature and is better for dusty, smoky or steamy rooms such as kitchens, garages or technical rooms.

What does the Sounder variant mean?

With a Sounder variant, the detector itself contains a siren (85 dB, EN 54-3), so that the detector also sounds an audible alarm directly.

What do the EN 54 standards mean?

EN 54-7 = point smoke detector, EN 54-5 = point heat detector, EN 54-3 = fire alarm sounder, EN 54-25 = wireless components.

Do I need a Fire Hub?

Yes. The detectors are controlled by the Ajax EN54 Fire Hub and are not compatible with a standard Ajax hub.
