AJAX EN54 FireProtect (Heat/Smoke): wireless heat and smoke detector for the EN54 line
The EN54 FireProtect (Heat/Smoke) is an addressable detector with a smoke sensor and a heat sensor in one housing. It is part of the Ajax EN54 fire alarm system and communicates securely via Jeweller.
The detector is monitored by the Ajax Fire Hub and reports to the control panel, the Ajax apps and the alarm receiving centre. Because it combines smoke and heat, it complies with EN 54-29 for multi-sensor detectors in addition to EN 54-5 and EN 54-7. Installation, configuration and tests are carried out via the app. Available in white and black.
Why the EN54 FireProtect (Heat/Smoke)
Smoke and heat combined
In standard mode, the second sensor confirms what the first one detects. This way the detector responds quickly to a real fire and less to steam or a brief temperature spike.
Dual-spectrum smoke chamber
Blue and infrared LEDs measure the particle size in the smoke chamber. The HazeFlow 2 algorithm checks the measurement before an alarm is raised.
Heat sensor with six modes
Two thermistors measure the temperature. Choose class A1 or B per room, with response to the rate of rise (R) or a fixed threshold (S).
Wireless and addressable
Secure two-way communication via Jeweller, up to 1,700 m range in open space. Identifiable per device in the control panel.
Battery powered
Two CR123A batteries are already in the detector. Calculated battery life of up to 6 years, no external power supply needed.
Dual tamper protection
The detector sends a notification if it is removed from the SmartBracket and if the cover of the smoke chamber is removed.
Adjusting detection to the room
In the app you choose which sensors take part:
- Combined detection (default): both sensors analyse heat and smoke together.
- Heat and smoke: both sensors active, but they operate independently of each other.
- Heat only or smoke only.
You can set the sensitivity of the smoke sensor to high, normal or low. High is intended for clean spaces such as offices and corridors, low for spaces with a lot of dust, steam or cooking fumes.
