Notice when doors and windows are opened
Ajax magnetic contacts (the DoorProtect line) detect the opening of a door or window and alert your system immediately. They work wirelessly with a long battery life; some models have an extra input for a wired detector.

What is a magnetic contact?
A magnetic contact consists of two parts: a sensor and a magnet. You place the sensor on the frame and the magnet on the door or window. If they move apart, your system knows immediately that it is being opened. Magnetic contacts are the basis of perimeter protection: you notice a break-in as soon as an entrance is opened, before anyone is inside.
What is the difference between the DoorProtect and the DoorProtect Plus?
The DoorProtect reports the opening of a door or window. The DoorProtect Plus adds an accelerometer that also detects shocks (three sensitivity levels) and tilting (5 to 25 degrees), useful for noticing an attempt to force an entry or the opening of a tilt-and-turn window or garage door. Otherwise they are identical.
Can I connect a wired or roller shutter contact?
Yes. The DoorProtect has an input for a wired contact (NC). This lets you connect a wired magnetic contact, such as the roller shutter magnetic contact, wirelessly to your Ajax system. If there is no DoorProtect nearby, it can also be done via a Transmitter or MultiTransmitter.
What is the roller shutter magnetic contact?
The roller shutter magnetic contact is a robust, wired contact (NC) for garage doors, roller shutters and overhead doors. It has an aluminium housing (IP67), a drive-over floor section, an adjustable L-bracket for difficult installations and a greater switching distance than a standard contact (up to 45 mm through wood, 34 mm through steel). You connect it to your system via a Transmitter, MultiTransmitter or the NC input of a DoorProtect.
What is the reed contact for?
The reed contact is a spare part: a separate, hermetically sealed reed switch with which you replace the switching element of an existing magnetic contact when it no longer works reliably. It is therefore not a standalone detector, but a repair part for anyone who wants to restore a faulty contact.
What is the Spacer for?
The Spacer is a spacer block for the DoorProtect and DoorProtect Plus. It compensates for a difference in height with uneven frames, so that the sensor and the magnet stay neatly aligned and switch reliably.
Which magnetic contact suits me?
In short:
- Door or window: the wireless DoorProtect.
- Also detect shocks or tilting: the DoorProtect Plus.
- Roller shutter, tilting door or garage door: the roller shutter magnetic contact.
Do I need a Hub?
Yes. Every magnetic contact reports to an Ajax system, so you need an Ajax hub. The wireless DoorProtect runs on batteries; a wired contact such as the roller shutter magnetic contact is connected via the NC input of a DoorProtect or via a Transmitter.
