Ajax DoorProtect: wireless magnetic contact for doors and windows
The most commonly used way to protect a door or window. As soon as someone opens a protected opening, you receive a notification on your phone straight away. The battery is already installed and you pair it in a few minutes via the Ajax app.
The DoorProtect is a wireless opening detector that works with a reed switch and a supplied magnet. Place the detector on the fixed part and the magnet on the moving part. If the distance between the two becomes too great, the opening is considered broken and your Ajax alarm is triggered. It communicates with your Hub via the Jeweller protocol, up to 1200 metres in open space, and lasts up to seven years on a single battery.

Install it yourself in a few minutes
Attach the detector to the fixed part of the door or window and the magnet to the moving part, with the magnet on the right-hand side. Mount with the supplied screws and wall plugs for a fixed, permanent mounting. The supplied double-sided tape is intended as an installation aid, for example to try out the position first, and not for final mounting. The small magnet works up to a distance of 1 cm, the large one up to 2 cm, so you can achieve a reliable installation even with a gap or an uneven frame. If the gap is too large, fill it with the Ajax Spacer. Then pair the DoorProtect with your Hub via the Ajax app and the zone is active.

Frequently asked questions about the DoorProtect
Do I need a subscription?
No. The DoorProtect works with your Ajax hub without a mandatory subscription. Notifications arrive free of charge in the Ajax app.
Which hub do I need?
Every Ajax hub with Jeweller works with the DoorProtect. Do you not have a system yet? View the Ajax StarterKit or put together a set yourself.
Does it work on metal doors and frames?
Yes, on most materials. For metal or a wider gap, use the supplied large magnet, or fill the gap with the Ajax Spacer.
What is the difference from the DoorProtect Plus?
In addition to the reed switch, the DoorProtect Plus also has an accelerometer and therefore detects shocks and tilting. Useful if you want to notice a break-in attempt as soon as the door is forced.
How long does the battery last?
Up to seven years on the pre-installed CR123A battery. The Ajax app warns you well in advance when it needs replacing.
Can I connect a wired detector to it?
Yes. Via the NC input you connect a wired detector with an NC (normally closed) contact to the same zone, for example a roller door magnetic contact. A contact with a built-in (EOL) resistor cannot be connected to the DoorProtect; that connects to the Ajax MultiTransmitter.
