Ajax MotionProtect Plus: motion detector with dual sensor against false alarms
A pet-friendly indoor motion detector with two sensors. In addition to infrared, the Plus uses a microwave sensor, so heat from a radiator, a draught or bright sunlight does not cause a false alarm. The battery is already installed and you can pair it within a few minutes via the Ajax app.
The MotionProtect Plus combines a passive infrared sensor with a 24 GHz K-band microwave sensor. The alarm is only triggered when both sensors confirm motion. This makes the Plus the right choice for difficult rooms with air conditioning, an open fireplace or a lot of changing light. It covers a room up to 12 metres and communicates in encrypted form via Jeweller with your Ajax hub, up to 1200 metres in open space.

Install it yourself in a few minutes
Mount the detector with the supplied SmartBracket at a height of approximately 2.4 metres, with the lens facing the direction an intruder would walk. Use the supplied screws and wall plugs for a secure fixing. The dual sensor makes the Plus suitable for places where an ordinary detector is prone to interference, such as near a radiator, an air conditioner or a south-facing window. The battery is already installed, so you pair the MotionProtect Plus with your hub in one click via the Ajax app and then set the sensitivity to one of three levels. For outdoor use, choose the MotionProtect Outdoor.

Frequently asked questions about the MotionProtect Plus
What exactly does the microwave sensor do?
The microwave sensor operates at 24 GHz and detects movement independently of heat. The alarm only sounds when both the infrared sensor and the microwave sensor detect movement. This prevents false alarms caused by a radiator, a draught or sunlight.
When do I choose the Plus instead of the standard MotionProtect?
Choose the Plus in rooms with air conditioning, an open fireplace, a lot of glass or bright sunlight. In an average room the standard MotionProtect is perfectly adequate and costs less.
Do I need a subscription?
No. The MotionProtect Plus works with your Ajax hub without a mandatory subscription. Notifications arrive free of charge in the Ajax app.
Which hub do I need?
Every Ajax hub with Jeweller works with the MotionProtect Plus. Do you not have a system yet? Take a look at the Ajax StarterKit or put together your own set.
Will it trigger on my dog or cat?
No, provided it is installed correctly. The Plus ignores animals up to 20 kg and 50 cm in height. Mount the detector at a height of 2.4 metres and do not aim the lens at furniture your pet can climb on. Pet immunity only works with the correct mounting height, angle and sensitivity, and a large or climbing dog or cat can still trigger an alert. Read Ajax's explanation of pet immunity.
How long does the battery last?
Up to five years on the pre-installed CR123A battery. The Ajax app gives ample warning when it needs replacing.
