Explosion-proof cameras

Surveillance where a spark is dangerous

An explosion-proof camera is built for places where flammable gas, vapour or dust can be present in the air, such as in the chemical industry, oil and gas, petrol stations and storage of grain or powder. The housing prevents a spark from the camera from igniting the surroundings.

What you will find here

Dome, bullet and PTZ in explosion-proof versions

The cameras here are Dahua network cameras in explosion-proof versions: a dome, a bullet with deterrence, a PTZ that pans, tilts and zooms, and a camera with 25x optical zoom. They receive their power via PoE over the network cable.

Explosion-proof accessories are needed for the connection, such as the flexible conduits ZANXG-1.0 and ZANXG-1.5 and the CZ300 junction box.

Good to know

Zone and certification first

Which camera you may install depends on the zone classification of the place where it will be mounted. The zones and certification of a model are listed in the Dahua datasheet under the Downloads tab on the product page. Compare it with the zone classification of your location before you order.

Have the installation carried out by an installer who is authorised to work in explosive atmospheres. If you would like us to help you work out which camera suits your zone, we will look into it for you.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about explosion-proof cameras

When do I need an explosion-proof camera?

When the camera is to be mounted in a place classified as a zone where an explosive atmosphere can arise from gas, vapour or dust. A regular camera may not be mounted there.

Where can I find which zone a camera is suitable for?

In the datasheet of the model, under the Downloads tab on the product page. It lists the certification and the zones that Dahua specifies.

Can I connect an explosion-proof camera to my regular recorder?

These are network cameras, so the images go to an NVR as with any IP camera. Do make sure that the recorder supports the brand and the resolution.
