AirShield explained

Get more out of your AirShield system

With these expansions you make your AirShield alarm more complete. You keep your existing wired security without replacing everything, you switch devices from your system, you extend the wireless range and you add backup power. All modules communicate wirelessly on 868 MHz with two-way communication and AES128, and pair with the same AirShield hub. You manage them in the free DMSS app.

How to choose

Which expansion do you need?

Wired connection

Reuse existing wired detectors and sirens. The Input Expander for 1 detector, the Transmitter for individual external detectors, or the Multi-Transmitter and PoE version for 16 zones.

Switching devices

Control devices from your system. The 7-24 VDC Relay for low voltage, the 100-240VAC Relay for mains voltage, or the Smart Plug as a standalone adapter plug.

Extend the range

Weak signal in a garage, loft or outbuilding? The Repeater adds an extra communication path and supports up to 128 accessories.

Backup power

Keep your mains-powered modules running during a power cut with the Multi-Transmitter battery 12V 9Ah.

Questions

Frequently asked questions about AirShield expansions

Can I keep using my existing wired detectors?

Yes. With an input expander, transmitter or multi-transmitter you connect wired detectors wirelessly to your AirShield system, without replacing them. For 1 detector the Input Expander is sufficient; for many zones you choose a Multi-Transmitter.

What is the difference between a relay and the smart plug?

A relay is built in to switch lighting, a gate or mains voltage. You simply plug the smart plug in between the socket and the appliance, with no installation. The 100-240VAC Relay and the Smart Plug also measure consumption.

When do I need a repeater?

When a sensor is far from the hub or there are many walls in between. The repeater adds an extra communication path and makes the connection more stable. It supports up to 128 accessories.

Do the expansions work during a power failure?

The battery-powered modules simply keep working. For mains-powered modules, such as the Multi-Transmitter, you add a backup battery so that these keep working as well.

Do I need a hub for these expansions?

Yes. All modules pair wirelessly with the Dahua AirShield hub. No system yet? Put one together with the configurator or have it installed by our fitters.

How do I manage the expansions?

You pair and manage them in the free Dahua DMSS app (iOS and Android). There you see the status, set alarm types and receive notifications, with no subscription.
