Face recognition access terminals

A face terminal opens the door on a face, card or code and works on its own, without a separate controller. You set per person who may open which door, and the terminal records who went in and when.

What to look for

How to choose the right terminal

  • Indoor or outdoor: for outdoor use you choose an IP65 version, for a counter or hall a compact indoor terminal is sufficient.
  • Unlocking: face and card only, or fingerprint and a PIN code as well.
  • Power supply: via PoE (power and data over the network cable) or with a separate 12 volt power supply.
  • Number of users: from a few thousand to ten thousand faces and cards.

Do I need a separate controller?

No, a terminal works independently and opens the door itself. If you want to manage several doors centrally, you connect the terminals to DSS Pro or SmartPSS Lite.

Can I use this to keep track of staff working hours?

For basic registration, yes: every login is logged with the time and the person and can be exported. For full time and attendance recording with clock-in and clock-out, you use separate time registration software.

Can I view remotely and open the door?

Yes, via the free DMSS app from Dahua. For multiple terminals, you use DSS Pro or SmartPSS Lite.
