ASI3103F-MEPW facial recognition access terminal with doorbell and PoE
The ASI3103F-MEPW is a standalone access terminal from Dahua that opens the door by face, IC and ID card, QR code or Bluetooth. A 2MP dual-lens camera recognises a face at 0,3 to 1,5 metres in 0,2 seconds, even when wearing a face mask. A built-in doorbell sends the visitor call to the DMSS app. The terminal works independently, without a separate controller, and connects to DSS Pro, SmartPSS Lite and the DMSS app. This is the MEPW version: the same as the MEW, and also powered via PoE.
Which ASI3103F suits you
All three versions are essentially the same: the same face recognition, IC and Desfire card reader, Bluetooth and room for 10.000 users. They differ only in the following:
| Type | ID card 125 kHz | Doorbell and call | Connectivity | Power supply | Operating temp. |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ASI3103F-W | No | No | LAN / Wi-Fi | 12 V | -30 to +60 °C |
| ASI3103F-MEW | Yes | Yes | LAN / Wi-Fi | 12 V | -30 to +60 °C |
| ASI3103F-MEPW (this one) | Yes | Yes | LAN / Wi-Fi | 12 V or PoE | -30 to +45 °C |
What this terminal does
- Opens on face, IC and ID card, QR code and Bluetooth; methods can be combined and set per time period
- 2MP dual-lens camera with WDR and automatic infrared lighting, so facial recognition also works in the dark
- Recognises a face at 0,3 to 1,5 metres, 99,9% accurate in 0,2 seconds, with mask detection
- Capacity for 10.000 users, 10.000 faces, 10.000 cards and 10.000 Bluetooth keys, plus 300.000 log entries
- Built-in doorbell and visitor call to the DMSS app, so you can speak to a visitor remotely as well
- Connections for exit button, door contact and lock control, plus an external card reader via RS-485 or Wiegand
- Alarm on tampering, duress, a door held open too long, intrusion and too many incorrect cards
- Powered via PoE or 12 volts, with a 12 volt output for the lock and an external reader
- IP65 housing for indoor and outdoor use, operates from -30 to +45 degrees
- Remote operation and viewing via DSS Pro, SmartPSS Lite and the free DMSS app

Frequently asked questions
Does the terminal work without a separate controller?
Yes. This is a standalone terminal: it opens the door itself and stores up to 10.000 users, so you do not need a separate access controller. If you want to manage several doors centrally, you connect it to DSS Pro.
Can I use this to keep track of staff working hours?
For basic registration, yes: the terminal records every login with the time and the person, and this data can be exported (to USB or to the management software). Full time registration with separate clock-in/clock-out status, shift schedules or a hours report is not part of the device itself; for that you use separate time registration software based on the exported data. Would you like to know whether this suits your setup? Call or email us and we will help you think it through.
Can the terminal be mounted outdoors?
Yes. The housing is IP65 and made for indoor and outdoor use, from -30 to +45 degrees. Mount it with screws and plugs that suit the surface and let the cable run inside through the cable entry, so that no moisture reaches the connection.
Which cards work with this?
IC cards (13.56 MHz), ID cards (125 kHz) and Desfire EV3. By default, the terminal is set to Dahua cards.
What does the doorbell function do?
A visitor presses the bell and you receive the call inside the DMSS app. You see and speak to the visitor and open the door, even when you are not there.
Can I open the door and watch remotely?
Yes, with the free DMSS app from Dahua you can watch live, receive notifications and open the door. For multiple terminals or cameras, use DSS Pro or SmartPSS Lite. The link to the app is under the Downloads tab.
Can the terminal run on PoE?
Yes. The MEPW version runs on PoE or on 12 volts. With PoE, power and data run over the same network cable, so you do not need a separate socket at the terminal.
Which cable do I need?
Network cable of at least category 5e, installed as fixed wiring. For outdoor use or in the ground, choose a cable made for that purpose. Not sure? Call or email us and we will help you decide.
