Access control
Door controllers
An access controller is the brain behind the door. The card readers and the door locks connect to it, and the controller determines who may open which door, and when. It also records who went in and connects to the network for central management.
What to look for
How to choose the right controller
- Number of doors: from 2 to 4 doors per controller; you add more doors with extra controllers in the network.
- One-way or two-way: a reader on the outside only, or on both sides of the door.
- Power supply: mains powered with a built-in power supply, or compact for the DIN rail with power via PoE.
- Separate readers: you choose the card readers separately and connect them via RS-485 or Wiegand.
