Video servers and platforms

For larger and composite installations

Video servers and management platforms bring multiple recorders and cameras together in one environment. They are intended for larger or distributed installations, where a single recorder is not sufficient.

For a standard setup with a single set of cameras, choose an NVR or XVR.

What you will find here

Encoders and management platforms

A video encoder converts the image from existing analogue or coax cameras into a network stream, so that you can still connect them to an IP system without replacing the cameras. Useful for a gradual transition to IP.

A management platform combines multiple recorders and cameras in one view: central playback, management of users and permissions, and linking of multiple locations. This becomes especially useful as the number of cameras or branches grows.

Not sure whether you need this? For most homes and business premises an NVR or XVR is sufficient. For multiple buildings or dozens of cameras, we are happy to help with the right setup.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about video servers and platforms

Do I need a video server or platform?

For a single set of cameras, no: an NVR or XVR is sufficient. These products are intended for larger or distributed installations, or for bringing existing cameras onto an IP system via an encoder.

What does a video encoder do?

An encoder converts the image from analogue or coax cameras into a network stream, so that you can connect them to an IP recorder or platform without replacing the cameras.

Can I bring multiple locations together?

Yes, that is exactly what a management platform is for: managing and reviewing multiple recorders and locations in one environment. Please contact us and we will look at the setup that suits your situation.
