A leaking washing machine or a burst pipe is often only noticed once the damage has been done. The Ajax LeaksProtect reports a leak within a fraction of a second, so that you can intervene in time.
The LeaksProtect is a wireless water leak detector that you place where water may occur. As soon as water touches one of the contacts, you receive a notification in the Ajax app straight away. In combination with the Ajax WaterStop it even shuts off the water supply automatically, or it controls a third-party device via an Ajax relay. An Ajax hub is required for use.

How the LeaksProtect works
Four sides, water is detected everywhere
Each side of the LeaksProtect has two contacts. As soon as water reaches a side and the contacts get wet, the detector raises an alarm within 0.15 seconds. You receive the notification in the Ajax app, where you can always see the status, battery level and connection. If you have an Ajax WaterStop, the detector secures the water supply straight away by closing the valve through a scenario. With an Ajax relay you can instead control a third-party device, for example another valve or a pump.
Place it down and you are done
You do not need to mount the LeaksProtect. Place it flat on the floor at the spots with the highest risk of leakage: under the washing machine, behind the dishwasher, near the central heating boiler, under the sink or next to the bath. Pairing is done in the Ajax app and the batteries are already installed. The detector is intended for indoor use.

Do I need an Ajax Hub?
Yes. The LeaksProtect works wirelessly with an Ajax hub. Via the hub you receive notifications in the Ajax app, without a mandatory subscription.
How quickly does the detector notice a leak?
Within 0.15 seconds. All four sides have contacts, so as soon as water reaches one side the detector raises the alarm immediately.
Does the LeaksProtect shut off the water itself?
No, the Ajax WaterStop does that. The LeaksProtect detects the water and, via a scenario, can have the WaterStop close. If you want to control another device instead of the water supply, you can do so via an Ajax Relay.
Do I need to mount the detector?
No. You place it flat on the floor at the risk locations. No tools or fixings are needed and the batteries are already installed.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 5 years on the two pre-installed AAA batteries. The Ajax app warns you well in advance when they are almost empty.
Can the detector be placed outdoors?
