Ajax GlassProtect: hears it when a pane breaks
A compact wireless detector that recognises the sound of breaking glass and raises the alarm immediately. This way you know the moment a burglar forces a pane or window, before they are inside.
The GlassProtect uses a microphone to listen for the typical sound of breaking glass, up to 9 metres away and across an angle of 180 degrees. The DualTone algorithm checks both the low thud and the high chink of breaking glass, so a glass that falls over or a door that slams does not trigger a false alarm. You install it indoors, facing the windows you want to protect.

Place the GlassProtect indoors, with a view of the windows you want to protect, and keep within the 9 metres and 180 degrees. Mount it with the supplied SmartBracket, using the supplied screws and wall plugs. The battery is already installed, so you pair the detector with your hub with one tap in the Ajax app and set the sensitivity to one of three levels. Please note: film on the glass (solar control, safety or decorative film) can affect detection.

GlassProtect or CombiProtect?
Both are indoor detectors that detect glass breakage. The CombiProtect adds a motion sensor, so it also detects movement in the room.

In addition to the glass break microphone, the CombiProtect also has a motion sensor (PIR) with pet immunity. If you only want to detect glass breakage, the GlassProtect is the more economical choice.
Can I connect a wired detector to it?
Yes. The GlassProtect has an input for a wired detector with an NC contact, which you can then add to your Ajax system wirelessly.
How long does the battery last?
Up to seven years on the pre-installed CR123A battery. The Ajax app warns you well in advance when it needs replacing.
