AirShield Dual-Tech: keeps an eye on movement, without false alarms
The AirShield Dual-Tech is a wireless indoor motion detector that combines two technologies: passive infrared and 24 GHz microwave radar. The alarm only sounds when both detect movement. This makes it the most reliable choice in places where you do not want false alarms.
Thanks to dual detection, the AirShield Dual-Tech filters out thermal interference such as sunlight or a heater, and automatic temperature compensation keeps operation stable. Pet immunity also helps limit false alerts caused by small pets. You choose white or black.
Why the AirShield Dual-Tech
Dual detection against false alarms
Combines PIR with 24 GHz microwave radar. An alarm is only triggered when both sensors detect movement, so there are far fewer false alarms.
Motion up to 12 m
A viewing angle of approx. 90 degrees when mounted at 2.2 m, with three sensitivity levels. Pet immunity helps limit alerts caused by small pets (up to approx. 18 kg), depending on placement.
Stable in warm conditions
Automatic temperature compensation keeps detection reliable, even with changing temperatures or in sunlight.
Safe and protected
Two-way communication on 868 MHz with AES128, plus jamming detection, tamper monitoring and a low battery notification.

Which indoor detector suits you?
If you want to detect movement in a room, choose a PIR, Dual-Tech or PIR-Cam. If you mainly want to protect windows and display cabinets, the Glass Break, which recognises breaking glass, is the right choice.
| Model | Detects | Range | Pet-friendly | Special feature |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PIR | Motion (PIR) | Up to 12 m | Up to 18 kg | Affordable entry-level model |
| Dual-Tech | Motion (PIR + radar) | Up to 12 m | Up to 18 kg | Lowest risk of false alarms |
| PIR-Cam | Motion + image | Up to 12 m | Up to 18 kg | HD photos in the event of an alarm |
| Glass Break | Breaking glass | Up to 9 m | Not applicable | Acoustic, 2 wired inputs |
All four work wirelessly on 868 MHz with two-way communication and AES128 encryption, and pair with the same AirShield hub. The recommended mounting height for the motion detectors is approximately 2.2 m.
Notifications and expansion
An immediate notification in the DMSS app
As soon as a detector is triggered, the AirShield hub sends a push notification to your phone. In the free Dahua DMSS app you can see which detector was triggered and in which room, and you can arm and disarm your system. No subscription, on iPhone and Android.
No AirShield system yet?
This detector works with the wireless AirShield hub from Dahua. Put your system together room by room with the configurator, or have everything installed by our VEB-approved installers.
Frequently asked questions
Why fewer false alarms than a standard PIR?
The Dual-Tech only triggers when both the PIR and the microwave radar detect movement. Isolated heat sources or draughts are therefore much less likely to trigger an alarm.
Is it suitable for homes with pets?
Pet immunity helps limit false alerts caused by small pets, but it is not a guarantee. Whether it works depends on the weight (up to approx. 18 kg), the size and the behaviour of the animal, and above all on the mounting height and location. Mount it at approx. 2.2 m, and do not aim it downwards or at windows and heat sources; large, jumping or climbing animals can still trigger an alert.
Where do I place the detector?
Indoors, at a height of approximately 2.2 m, aimed at the area you want to protect. Avoid direct line of sight to windows, radiators or the sun.
