Dahua BF8C-XL: battery camera with solar panel
An 8-megapixel (4K) outdoor bullet camera that you mount without a power cable and without a network cable. A 9000 mAh battery powers the camera, and the included 8 W solar panel charges it.
The camera connects to your Wi-Fi and works with Dahua's free DMSS app. It recognises people and vehicles, scares off intruders with light and sound, and sends a notification to your phone straight away.

4K: every detail in view
With 8 megapixels, the camera sees much more than a standard 2-megapixel camera. The 2.1 mm lens with an F1.6 aperture has a wide field of view and captures plenty of light.

Camera and solar panel can be mounted separately
The solar panel has its own bracket. You can therefore mount the camera where you want to watch and the panel where the sun reaches.

Recording all day, with low power consumption
A standard battery camera only starts recording when the motion sensor detects something, so you often miss the start. In AOV (Always-On Video) mode, this camera records all the time: at rest with one frame every two seconds, and when an event occurs immediately at 15 frames per second. You therefore also see what happened just before.

Choose how the camera works
According to Dahua's measurements, one hour of direct sunlight is enough for a full day in AOV mode. With a solar panel and AOV, the camera runs all year round. Without a solar panel, using only the motion sensor, the battery lasts more than 120 days.

Sees up to 30 metres away
In AOV mode, the camera sees people up to about 30 metres away and switches to full speed immediately. The motion sensor alone reaches 12 metres.

Made for outdoor use
The housing is IP66: resistant to rain, fog and dust. The camera works from -20 to +60 °C.

A notification when the battery is running low
In the app you set a threshold between 1 and 80 per cent. If the battery drops below it, you receive a notification.

Dual-band Wi-Fi 6
The camera works on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Wi-Fi 6 is faster, more efficient and less susceptible to interference than older Wi-Fi.

Light and sound when an intruder is detected
If the camera sees someone who should not be there, the light and the sound alarm switch on and you receive a notification on your phone.

Three lighting modes
Choose between infrared (black and white, discreet), warm light (always in colour) or smart lighting: infrared until something happens, then warm light and colour. Infrared reaches up to 15 metres, warm light up to 20 metres.

Efficient recording to an SD card
Thanks to H.265, recordings take up roughly half the storage space and bandwidth of H.264. According to Dahua, a 512 GB micro SD card holds about 43 days of footage.

Questions about the Dahua BF8C-XL
Do I need a power outlet near the camera?
No. The camera runs on its battery and the solar panel charges it. Mount the panel in a spot with as much sun as possible. You can also charge it with a USB-C cable.
What is AOV mode?
AOV stands for Always-On Video. The camera then records throughout the day at a low frame rate, so that it remains energy efficient. If something happens, it switches to 15 frames per second. In the app you choose between power-saving mode, AOV and performance mode.
Where are the recordings stored?
On a micro SD card of up to 512 GB in the camera. The card is not included. You watch live and play back recordings in the DMSS app.
