Ajax CombiProtect: motion and glass break in one detector
Two types of detection in one device. The CombiProtect senses motion in the room and hears when a window breaks. This way you cover both the room and the windows with one pet-friendly detector.
The CombiProtect combines a passive infrared sensor with a built-in microphone for glass break detection. The PIR sensor covers a room up to 12 metres, and the microphone recognises the sound of breaking glass up to 9 metres. Both work at the same time, so you do not need to install a separate glass break detector. It communicates with your Ajax hub over an encrypted Jeweller connection. Available in white and black.

Install it yourself in a few minutes
Mount the detector with the supplied SmartBracket at a height of approximately 2.4 metres, with the lens facing the room and with a view of the windows you want to protect. Use the supplied screws and wall plugs for a secure fixing. Position it so that the microphone has a clear view of the window, as thick curtains or closed doors muffle the sound of breaking glass. The battery is already installed, so you pair the CombiProtect with your hub in one click via the Ajax app and then set the sensitivity.

Frequently asked questions about the CombiProtect
Do the motion and glass break detection work at the same time?
Yes. The PIR sensor and the microphone work together in one detector. Both movement in the room and the breaking of a window trigger an alarm.
How does it recognise breaking glass?
The built-in microphone analyses the sound and responds to the combination of the impact and the ringing of glass, up to 9 metres away. Make sure the window is in clear view, as thick curtains muffle the sound.
Will it trigger on my dog or cat?
No, provided it is positioned correctly. The motion sensor ignores animals up to 20 kg and 50 cm in height. Mount the detector at a height of 2.4 metres and do not point the lens towards furniture your pet can climb on. The pet immunity only works with the correct mounting height, angle and sensitivity, and a large or climbing dog or cat may still trigger an alert. Read Ajax's explanation of pet immunity.
Do I need a subscription?
No. The CombiProtect works with your Ajax hub without a mandatory subscription. Notifications arrive free of charge in the Ajax app.
How long does the battery last?
Up to five years on the pre-installed CR123A battery. The Ajax app gives ample warning when it needs replacing.
