Ajax Curtain Outdoor Mini: compact curtain detection with dual technology
A slim, wireless outdoor curtain detector that covers a narrow strip of up to 5 metres. Well suited to a door, window, balcony or a tight spot where a large detector does not fit. The dual technology keeps the chance of false alarms low.
The Curtain Outdoor Mini creates a narrow beam and uses infrared together with microwave to confirm whether it is a person. This way you notice an intruder at the facade, without wind, rain or a passing animal causing a false alarm. Thanks to its compact size, it is barely noticeable. The included angle bracket makes aiming simple.
Why the Curtain Outdoor Mini
Narrow curtain beam
Monitors a narrow strip of up to 5 metres along a door, window or facade.
Dual technology
Infrared and microwave confirm the movement together, for very few false alarms outdoors.
Compact and slim
Small and unobtrusive, it also fits in a tight spot where a large detector will not.
Made for outdoor use
Weatherproof housing that keeps working outdoors on the façade all year round.
Fully wireless
Communicates with your Ajax hub via encrypted Jeweller, up to 1700 metres in open space.
Years on batteries
Up to 3 years on the two pre-installed CR123A batteries.

Quick to install
You can mount the slim Curtain Outdoor Mini in a few minutes alongside a door, window or facade.
Installed outdoors in a few minutes
Mount the detector with the supplied SmartBracket at a height of approximately 1 metre, so that the narrow beam runs along the door, window or facade. With the supplied corner bracket you can aim it precisely. Use the supplied screws and wall plugs for a fixed mounting. Do you want to ignore pets? Then set the slider to the Pet position, and the detector ignores animals up to approximately 70 cm in height. The batteries are already installed, so you can pair the Curtain Outdoor Mini to your hub with one click via the Ajax app.
Preventing false alarms outdoors
An outdoor detector responds to any movement in its detection zone. Swaying branches and shrubs, washing on the line or a garden furniture cover that billows and flaps in wind and sun can therefore trigger an alert. The dual technology already limits this considerably; keep the number of unwanted alarms low with these points:
Not freely accessible
Aim the detector at a part of your premises that is not freely accessible to third parties, and not at the pavement, the street or the neighbours.
Keep the zone clear
Keep the detection zone free of moving vegetation, hanging laundry and loose objects such as covers and flags.
Correct mounting height
Keep to the recommended mounting height (approximately 1 m) and set the sensitivity appropriately.
This detector can ignore animals, but only with the correct mounting and settings. Read how pet immunity works in the Ajax explanation.

Frequently asked questions about the Curtain Outdoor Mini
What is the difference from the regular Curtain Outdoor?
The Mini is more compact and monitors a shorter strip of up to 5 metres. The Curtain Outdoor reaches further, up to 15 metres, and is larger. For tight spaces or shorter zones, the Mini is the practical choice.
Does it trigger false alarms because of wind or rain?
Hardly at all. The combination of infrared and microwave together confirms whether it is a person, so wind, rain and moving vegetation are ignored.
Will it respond to my pet?
You can prevent this by setting the slider to the Pet position. The detector then ignores animals up to approximately 70 cm in height.
Do I need a subscription?
No. The Curtain Outdoor Mini works with your Ajax hub without a mandatory subscription. Notifications arrive free of charge in the Ajax app.
How long do the batteries last?
Up to three years on the two pre-installed CR123A batteries. The Ajax app warns you well in advance when replacement is needed.
