The best alarm system with a subscription is from Ajax Systems. The Ajax alarm system is one of our best-selling security systems. You purchase this system separately, which amounts to a one-off investment. We do recommend taking a subscription for the alarm receiving centre and the SIM card.
An alarm receiving centre ensures that the emergency services are called as soon as an emergency occurs. This involves a procedure that must be verified, but more on that later.
The best alarm system with a subscription has 4 important elements to take into account.
1. What about a subscription?
With our alarm systems we offer two types of subscription. These subscriptions are not for the alarm system itself or for paying it off. The subscriptions we offer raise your level of security by one level. This way you only pay for the services you want to use. With us, the system does not stop working if you do without these additional subscriptions (as some competitors' systems do). Below is an explanation of the two types of subscription.
Alarm receiving centre
An alarm receiving centre has trained specialists who act quickly and appropriately as soon as there is an emergency. As soon as the alarm goes off, it is followed up by the alarm receiving centre. In the case of a verified alert, they may even call the emergency services for you. A verified alarm notification can be made via:
- Human observation
- Signalling via camera
- Listening in
- Multiple zones in alarm
We recommend naming at least three key holders who have a key to the house, a code for the alarm receiving centre and a code or fob for the alarm system.
The alarm receiving centre keeps calling until a keyholder has responded. In addition, the alarm receiving centre runs a test every 24 hours to check that the alarm system is working.
We have a special offer for Secures customers. Take out an alarm receiving centre subscription with us and get the first six months free.
SIM card
A SIM card ensures that your alarm system is always online. The default connection of control panels will always be via the local network (WiFi or cable). Only when the internet connection fails or is tampered with does the SIM card take over via the mobile network.

2. What can you protect yourself against?
The most important elements of an alarm system ensure that you are warned in good time in the event of:
- Attempted burglary
- Fire protection
- Smoke notification
- Carbon monoxide
- Water leakage
3. What do you need to be warned?
Intruder
To protect yourself against burglary you need magnetic contacts. Magnetic contacts register when a window, door or other opening in your home is opened. The principle is simple: the magnets make contact when a door is closed. If they separate while the system is armed, this indicates a possible break-in attempt. For burglary protection you can also choose glass break detection, motion detectors and camera surveillance.Fire protection
At Ajax Systems, fire protection works in one of the following 3 ways:
- Optical sensor
Smoke detectors from Ajax Systems use dual-spectrum smoke detection. Ajax Systems also combines this with its own purpose-designed algorithm to ensure fast and accurate smoke detection (without false alarms).
- Smoke sensor
In addition to the optical sensor, the smoke detector also contains a smoke chamber. It is dust-free and impenetrable to insects.
- Heat sensor
Finally, a heat sensor is included. In the event of a fire threat without smoke, a notification is sent based on heat.
Carbon monoxide
Carbon monoxide (CO) is known as a silent killer. You cannot see it and you cannot smell it, but inhaling it can have life-threatening consequences.
Ajax CO detectors can detect carbon monoxide concentrations from as low as 0.005%, so you are warned in good time.
Water leakage
A water leak is unlikely to become a life-threatening situation, but it can be very useful for preventing material damage to your home or business premises.
The Ajax LeaksProtect is a small, wireless water detector. In places where there is a risk of flooding, it can prevent a flood. Especially in combination with the Ajax Systems Waterstop, you prevent a flood. The Ajax Systems Waterstop is a remotely operated shut-off valve for both hot and cold water.

4. How do you receive these notifications?
With the Ajax alarm system you always receive all notifications on your phone via the Ajax Security System app. The notifications in the app are divided into the following categories:
Alarm notifications
Alarms have the highest priority. You can therefore choose between: receiving a phone call, a push notification or an SMS. Receiving a phone call and an SMS involves extra costs. You can choose these options at:
- Intruder
- Fire
- Leak
Please note: push notifications make a siren sound. For other notifications you receive a normal push notification sound.
You receive alarms via:

Fault
Faults include the following notifications:
- Lost connection between device and hub
- Jamming (attempt to block the radio frequency)
- Battery low in device or hub
- Masking (attempt to block motion detectors)
- Detection of tampering with motion detectors
- Lost connection between Hub & Ajax server
For all of these notifications, a push notification is sent to your smartphone or an SMS is sent.
Security mode changes
Notifications about changes to your security mode arrive via push notification or SMS. You receive this notification when you arm or disarm the system or when you switch on night mode.
System events
System events such as updates for the Ajax Hub and maintenance are shared via push notification and SMS.
Non-security notifications
If you use an Ajax LifeQuality air quality monitor, you can receive notifications when there is a significant change in temperature, humidity or CO2. You receive these notifications via push notifications or SMS.
Automations
You receive a push notification or SMS when the system is armed or disarmed:
You receive all the (non-critical) notifications above via:
