A wireless outdoor detector that looks in two directions at once. Ideal for monitoring both sides from a corner or from the middle of a façade, with a narrow beam that falls exactly along the wall and leaves the street or neighbours outside it.
The DualCurtain Outdoor creates two independent, narrow detection curtains. You set each side separately up to 15 metres using the sliders on the back. The ELSA and SmartDetect algorithms keep the alarm reliable and ignore animals and swaying branches. This way you notice an intruder at the façade, before anyone is inside.

Installed outdoors in a few minutes
Mount the detector with the supplied SmartBracket at a height of 80 to 130 cm, for example on a corner so that both curtains run along the façades. Use the supplied screws and wall plugs for a secure fixing. Use the sliders on the back to set each curtain separately up to 15 metres, so that you cover exactly your own premises. If necessary, switch on detection close to the detector to reduce the blind spot. The batteries are already fitted, so you can pair the DualCurtain Outdoor to your Hub in one click via the Ajax app.
Preventing false alarms outdoors
An outdoor detector responds to any movement in its detection zone. Swaying branches and shrubs, washing on the line or a garden furniture cover that billows and flaps in wind and sun can therefore trigger a notification. This is how you keep the number of unwanted alarms low:
Not freely accessible
Aim the detector at a part of your premises that is not freely accessible to third parties, and not at the pavement, the street or the neighbours.
Keep the zone clear
Keep the detection zone free of moving vegetation, hanging laundry and loose objects such as covers and flags.
Correct mounting height
Keep to the recommended mounting height (80 to 130 cm) and set the range and sensitivity for each side as appropriate.

Frequently asked questions about the DualCurtain Outdoor
What does bidirectional mean?
The detector creates two separate detection curtains, to the left and to the right. This way you cover both sides from a corner or from the middle of a facade with a single device.
Can I prevent the street from triggering an alarm?
Yes. With the sliders on the back you set each curtain separately up to 15 metres, so that you cover exactly your own property and leave the surroundings outside it alone.
Does it give false alarms because of animals or branches?
Hardly at all. The ELSA and SmartDetect software assess whether it is a person and ignore animals up to 80 cm high and moving branches.
Do I need a subscription?
No. The detector works with your Ajax Hub without a mandatory subscription. Notifications arrive free of charge in the Ajax app.
How long do the batteries last?
Up to four years on the two pre-installed CR123A batteries. The Ajax app warns you well in advance when replacement is needed.
