Ajax StreetSiren: original replacement battery

The right batteries for your StreetSiren (outdoor siren). The same CR123A type that Ajax pre-installs, so you keep the stated battery life and reliability.

Fit them again within a few minutes: battery cover open, old cells out, new ones in, cover closed. The hub and the Ajax app report by themselves, well in advance, that the battery is almost empty.

How to replace the battery

Step by step according to the Ajax manual:

1. Switch off the external power supply of the siren (if applicable).
2. Loosen the locking screw on the underside using a PH2 Phillips screwdriver.
3. Turn the siren anticlockwise off the SmartBracket mounting plate.
4. Switch off the device by holding the power button for 3 seconds.
5. Disconnect the external power supply (if applicable): loosen the terminal blocks and detach the power wires.
6. Place the siren on a towel folded several times, so that the metal grille does not become deformed.
7. Loosen the 4 screws using a PH2 Phillips screwdriver.
8. Turn the siren over (holding the front and back) and pry the grille loose via the plate with the Ajax logo. Use a plastic card or plectrum, not metal (this scratches the housing).
9. Note: do not remove the plastic frame and do not take the LED strip out of its holder.
10. Replace the 4 CR123A batteries and observe the polarity (indicated on the circuit board).
11. Reassemble everything in reverse order, place the siren on the mounting plate and tighten the locking screw.
12. Switch on the siren and check the battery status in the Ajax app.
