Ajax LightCore (Dimmer): smart light switch
The Ajax LightCore (Dimmer) is the dimmer in the Ajax LightSwitch series: a smart light switch that combines comfort and security. The LightCore is the flush-mounted module containing the electronics and the relay; the touch panel is ordered separately in 8 colours.
The Dimmer controls the light level of a lighting group, steplessly via the touch panel or the Ajax app. The system remembers the set level and restores it the next time. A minimum and maximum threshold prevent flickering and glare. This version is the horizontal variant, so that it fits neatly with your existing switch layout.
Completing the set: a working switch is this LightCore plus a LightSwitch Button horizontal (the touch panel) in your colour. Please note: the Ajax CoverPlate is a blanking plate without a touch panel and does not fit on a LightCore.
What the LightCore (Dimmer) does
Stepless dimming
Adjust the light level with the slider on the touch panel or in the Ajax app. The system remembers your set level. An adjustable minimum and maximum threshold prevents flickering and glare.
No neutral wire required
The LightCore works on the live wire only and fits in your existing flush-mounting box. You replace your old switch without changing the wiring. A capacitor is included for low-power lamps.
Touch panel in 8 colours
The panel (Button) is ordered separately in eight colours and can later be swapped without switching off the power: view the horizontal LightSwitch Buttons. Combine several switches or sockets in a Frame, or build your set online.
Automation scenarios
Have the light follow a schedule, switch on when you disarm the alarm, or respond to an event. An off timer switches the light off automatically after a set time. You manage everything in the Ajax app.
Built-in security
The LightCore protects itself against overcurrent (above 2,6 A) and overheating (above 60 °C): it switches off the power and sends a notification to the app. A child lock prevents accidental switching.

Wireless Jeweller connection with two-way communication and encryption, up to 1100 m in open space to your Ajax hub. You pair it by scanning a QR code; installation takes about 7 minutes.

Not sure which variant you need? If you are replacing a standard switch like for like, choose the same function as your old switch. For a lamp operated from two locations, choose 2-way, and for three or more locations the Crossover. If you want to dim, choose the Dimmer.

Is the touch panel included?
No. The LightCore is the flush-mounted module. The touch panel (Button (Dimmer): Solo, Side or Center) is ordered separately, in one of the 8 colours (LightSwitch Buttons horizontal), so that you can match the colour to your interior. With a Frame you can combine several switches or sockets in one cover frame. Please note: the Ajax CoverPlate is a blank cover without a touch panel and does not fit on a LightCore.
Do I need a neutral wire?

Does this work without an Ajax alarm system?
