Ajax MotionCam Outdoor HighMount PhOD: outdoor detector with camera for high mounting
A wireless outdoor detector with a camera that you deliberately mount high, up to 4 metres, out of reach of intruders and vandals. Ideal for commercial premises, warehouses and tall facades. In addition to photos on an alarm, Photo on Demand lets you request an image at any time.
The MotionCam Outdoor HighMount is designed specifically for mounting at a height of 2 to 4 metres, with a detection pattern that covers an area of up to 15 metres from that height. Two PIR sensors and a camera ensure that you see straight away what is happening with every alarm. The photos are sent to your hub via the encrypted Wings channel. Please note: photo verification works with a Hub 2 or Hub 2 Plus.
Why the MotionCam Outdoor HighMount
For high mounting
Designed for installation at 2 to 4 metres, out of reach of intruders. The supplied swivel bracket aims it precisely.
Photo on alarm and on request
Takes a series of photos on an alarm and, with Photo on Demand, also sends images on request.
Also in the dark
The built-in infrared illumination provides usable photos in low light or no light.
Two sensors, fewer false alarms
Two PIR sensors with SmartDetect and anti-masking keep the alarm reliable, even outdoors.
Made for outdoor use
Weatherproof housing with the supplied hood against rain and snow.
Years on batteries
Up to 3 years on the six pre-installed CR123A batteries.
The HighMount in practice
Monitoring of a business site, warehouse and facade from a high mounting position.

Mounted high, precisely aimed
Mount the detector at a height of 2 to 4 metres using the supplied SmartBracket and swivel bracket, for example against a facade or under a roof edge. With the swivel bracket you tilt and turn it precisely towards the area to be monitored. Use the supplied screws and wall plugs for a firm fixing and fit the cover to protect against rain. The batteries are already installed, so you can pair the detector with your hub in one click via the Ajax app. Make sure you have a Hub 2 or Hub 2 Plus, as only these process the photos.
Preventing false alarms outdoors
An outdoor detector responds to any movement in its detection zone. Swaying branches and shrubs, washing on the line or a garden furniture cover that billows and flaps in wind and sun can therefore trigger a notification. This is how you keep the number of unwanted alarms low:
Not freely accessible
Aim the detector at a part of your premises that is not freely accessible to third parties, and not at the pavement, the street or the neighbours.
Keep the zone clear
Keep the detection zone free of moving vegetation, hanging laundry and loose objects such as covers and flags.
Correct mounting height
Keep to the recommended mounting height (2 to 4 metres) and set the range and sensitivity accordingly.
This HighMount version has no pet immunity; it is intended for high mounting. See the Ajax explanation of pet immunity for detectors that do offer it.

Which outdoor detector with camera suits you?
High mounting
The HighMount (this page) is mounted high, which is ideal for commercial premises and facades.
At eye level, with photo on request
For standard facade height with PhOD, choose the MotionCam Outdoor PhOD.
Frequently asked questions about the MotionCam Outdoor HighMount
Why high mounting?
By placing the detector at a height of 2 to 4 metres, it hangs out of reach of intruders and vandals. The detection pattern is designed specifically for that height, so you still cover the area below. Useful for commercial premises, warehouses and tall facades.
What is Photo on Demand (PhOD)?
With PhOD you can request a photo yourself at any time, even without an alarm. The alarm receiving centre can do so too, provided you allow it. You use the privacy settings to decide who may request a photo and when.
Is it pet-friendly?
This HighMount version has no pet immunity, because it is intended for high mounting. If you want to ignore pets indoors, choose a MotionCam or MotionProtect.
Which hub do I need for the photos?
Photo verification works with a Hub 2 or Hub 2 Plus. On older hubs the detector still works as a standard outdoor detector, but you will not receive photos.
How long do the batteries last?
Up to three years on the six pre-installed CR123A batteries. The Ajax app warns you well in advance when replacement is needed.
