Ajax Hub 4G

Hub Jeweller with support for 4G (LTE)

The very first hub designed by Ajax Systems receives an important upgrade: support for 4G (LTE) networks. The new version of Hub does not replace the previous one. Instead, two versions of Hub Jeweller are now available. Everything remains unchanged, except that the new version of the hub has a different modem and a few additional features. Whether you choose the 2G or 4G version, you are assured of the same first-class connectivity and reliability.

To avoid confusion, the new hub has different packaging and a different name. The regular hub is renamed Hub (2G) Jeweller and the new one is called Hub (4G) Jeweller. Both devices can now be ordered from partners of Ajax Systems.

Ajax Hub 4G lifestyle

Many buildings, such as small shops or studios, only need basic security, and Hub (2G) Jeweller meets common security requirements. Installing a few detectors and the hub with basic functions proves sufficient and fits these specific needs perfectly.

As leading technology relies more and more on 3G and 4G (LTE) networks, supporting 2G is becoming economically impractical for providers. In countries such as Germany, the Czech Republic, Norway, Switzerland and South Africa, 2G is no longer available. Hubs that only support 2G are therefore not relevant for these regions. However, the need for this hub does not disappear.

That is why Ajax Systems has expanded its range of hubs with Hub (4G) Jeweller and is keeping Hub (2G) Jeweller for those who still need it.

Hub (4G) Jeweller only works on 4G (LTE) frequencies. It does not support 2G or 3G networks, USSD codes or informing users of alarms by phone calls.

More than usual

Although Hub (2G) Jeweller and Hub (4G) Jeweller are designed to meet basic security requirements, they have all the features that PROs and users value in Ajax devices: simple installation and connection, remote settings, in-app control and more.

Hub (2G) Jeweller and Hub (4G) Jeweller are suitable for various locations, from small shops such as newsagents to larger premises such as apartments and offices. Ajax wireless technology offers a radio communication range of up to 2,000 m between a hub and connected devices. The ReX Jeweller signal booster can double the range if necessary and ensures a stable connection between devices located on different floors or at a great distance.

Reliable, direct and user-friendly

Both versions of the hub run on OS Malevich, a proprietary real-time operating system, and efficiently manage 100 devices and 50 users, and support 9 security groups. The hubs inform users immediately of alarms and events with informative push notifications. Hub (2G) Jeweller and Hub (4G) Jeweller connect to different internet providers via a mobile network and Ethernet, and have a built-in backup battery that allows up to 15 hours of autonomous operation, so they stay online to protect the building when the power fails. They also have a tamper alarm, give a notification if the internet connection is lost, and automatically change radio frequency within a band if they detect radio interference or jamming.

Effortless installation, setup and maintenance are essential for every Ajax device. The Hub (2G) Jeweller and Hub (4G) Jeweller are ready for use straight away. All communication modules, the power supply and the backup battery are already installed. With the SmartBracket mounting panel, the enclosure does not need to be dismantled during installation. All necessary fixings and cables are included in the complete set.

Ajax Hub mounting

Both hub versions only need power and internet to start the installation. They are paired with the system by scanning the QR code in Ajax apps. Connecting other Ajax devices, adding users, testing the radio signal, creating groups and scenarios, even sending a request to connect to the alarm receiving centre: all system settings are always available in intuitive Ajax apps and can be reconfigured remotely.

Automation for greater safety and comfort

The Hub (2G) Jeweller and the Hub (4G) Jeweller support arming and disarming the entire system or security groups, and activating night mode according to a schedule. They communicate with Ajax automation devices through scenarios, so that pre-programmed actions are started automatically by arming or disarming, pressing buttons, detector alarms, or at a scheduled time. The system can activate a fog generator if an intruder enters, switch off the whole building or individual devices, control electric locks, roller shutters, garage doors, and more.

In addition, Hub (2G) Jeweller and Hub (4G) Jeweller support up to 5 automation scenarios for alarms or according to a schedule. The number of arming/disarming scenarios is not limited: the hub can support as many scenarios as there are automation devices in the system. This flexibility of the system makes it easy for installers to meet specific customer requirements.

What is new in Hub (4G) Jeweller

Although Hub (2G) Jeweller and Hub (4G) Jeweller are very similar, the new version stands out with a few additional features. Hub (4G) Jeweller is compatible with KeyPad Plus Jeweller, a wireless touch-sensitive keypad that supports encrypted contactless cards and key fobs. Hub (4G) Jeweller also supports access codes for people who are not registered in the Ajax system, for example a visitor, a cleaning company or an estate agent. We introduced these features to meet the specific needs of our partners and to take their experience of securing and managing access to a site to an entirely new level.

Transferring data from Hub (2G) Jeweller to Hub (4G) Jeweller

Upgrading to a new Hub (4G) Jeweller takes only a few minutes. With the data transfer function, all system settings, including connected devices, scenarios and users, are transferred from your old Hub (2G) Jeweller to the new one. You do not need to be a programmer; it is an automatic process in the Ajax app that takes only 5 minutes.
