Which type of control to choose
Rolling structures can be opened and closed manually and/or automatically. Manual roller doors and shutters can be automated with an electric motor. Electric roller doors and automatic roller shutters are fitted with a remote control or a button for opening and closing.
If you want to connect roller shutters and doors to Ajax, they must have an electric motor.

In the app or with a button
With Ajax you do not need separate remote controls and buttons for every roller door and roller shutter. You only need to have a smartphone with the Ajax app or a Button within reach to control them. When you approach the garage, for example, you do not have to waste time waiting for the roller doors to open. The button works at a distance of up to 1,300 metres in line of sight.
Automation scenarios
By changing the security mode
When leaving the house, a single tap is enough to arm the system with a smartphone or a remote control. The roller doors and roller shutters will move down. You do not have to check each window separately or inspect all entrances and exits. When the alarm is disarmed, the shutters open in the same way.
On a schedule
You can set a schedule for opening and closing the roller doors and roller shutters. For example, you may want the roller shutters in the office to close automatically at 19.00 and open again at 8.00, regardless of the security mode.
When arming and disarming Night Mode
If you activate Night Mode before going to bed, the blinds close or the window roller shutters lower according to the scenario. Night Mode activates the security mode without restricting movement within a perimeter. However, if someone tries to break into the house, the alarm will be triggered.
Automation scenarios can be run by connecting Relay or WallSwitch relays to the roller doors and roller shutters.

Several examples
In the event of an attempted break-in
The office on the first floor is protected by roller shutters. An opening detector on the shutters detects an attempted break-in.Video surveillance cameras outside record the appearance of intruders. A Hub (the control panel of the security system) has already sent an alarm to an alarm receiving centre and a patrol is on its way.
When the owners are away for a long time
When leaving the summer house, one press of a button lowers all roller doors and roller shutters and cuts the power supply to the drive. Security mode is activated. Outdoor detectors with a photo camera monitor the surroundings and detect movement. In the event of an alarm, the owner can view images from anywhere in the world to see whether the danger is serious: whether burglars are forcing the shutters open or family members have forgotten to switch off the system.
In case of an attack
Intruders are on private property while the owners are at home: sirens and outdoor lighting switch on and the shutters in front of the windows and the back door close. The owner presses the panic button, leaves through another door and waits in a safe place for the patrol to arrive.
In case of fire
The Ajax fire detectors detect smoke, carbon monoxide and a sudden rise in temperature. The roller doors and roller shutters open automatically to clear evacuation routes and give the fire brigade access. This can save lives when minutes or even seconds count.
