Texecom SmartCom Pro 4G: two routes to the alarm receiving centre
The SmartCom Pro 4G reports over the network in the building and over 4G. Two independent paths, so if the internet connection is down the alarm still reaches the alarm receiving centre. Here too the alarm panel does not need to be a Texecom: ten inputs read the digital outputs of almost any control panel.
The SIM card is not an ordinary SIM card. With eUICC technology, a single card holds two worldwide roaming profiles, so that a fault at one network operator does not immediately take down your signalling.
What the SmartCom Pro 4G does
Network and 4G side by side
Wired or over Wi-Fi, plus a mobile connection. Together these provide transmission categories DP1 to DP4; on 4G alone it remains SP2. Texecom recommends the network cable over Wi-Fi where available, because from category DP2 it is the more reliable choice.
Two SIM profiles in one card
The eUICC SIM card carries two worldwide roaming profiles. If one operator's network drops out, the communicator switches to the other.
Switches path by itself
As long as the network is working, everything runs over it. If that primary path drops out, the communicator switches to 4G automatically. No manual action, no gap in signalling.
Private APN and AES 256
Alarm messages and polling are sent over the line with AES 256 encryption, with protection against replacement of the communicator. The roaming eSIM works on Texecom's own APN, which makes intercepting the SIM or the signal harder.
Configuration via templates
Signal configuration is done through PINS templates in Texecom Cloud. This saves time and removes most typing errors from the set-up work.
Ten inputs, four outputs
Ten standardised inputs with a tamper-protected loop, and four outputs (two open collector, two relay) to which you assign a function yourself.
Remote checking
Via Texecom Cloud you carry out status checks, change settings, locate faults and update the firmware. Without having to attend site.
From 10 to 30 volts
Operating range 10 to 30 volts DC. Typically 120 mA at 12 volts, peak 450 mA.
Which panels it works with
Any panel with digital outputs
The ten standardised inputs read the outputs of your existing control panel. This makes the make of the panel irrelevant: if it has a digital output, you can report it.
Full access on Premier Elite
On a Texecom Premier Elite the connection runs serially. Texecom Connect, Texecom Cloud and remote configuration (UDL) then become available as well.
Fire panels too
The inputs and outputs operate on 10 to 30 volts DC, so the communicator suits a fire alarm panel just as well as an intruder alarm control panel. No additional interface module required.

What you need as well
A connectivity contract
Reporting to the alarm receiving centre runs via Texecom Monitor. Texecom charges for that connection via Texecom Cloud. A 4G-kiezer comes with the Basic + 4G annual subscription, because the SIM card's data bundle is included in it.
An alarm receiving centre
Texecom Monitor works with all major private alarm receiving centres and is available in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom. If you do not yet know which alarm receiving centre to choose, ask us before you order.
An installer
Before commissioning, Texecom requires an installer account in Texecom Cloud with payment details, and an alarm receiving centre that is connected to Texecom Monitor. On a Premier Elite, the firmware must be V6.05 or newer. Connecting and registering is therefore genuine installer work; we can arrange it for you if you wish.
A tamper-resistant enclosure
For EN 50131 and EN 50136, the module must be installed in a tamper-resistant enclosure: in the cabinet of your alarm panel, or in the SmartCom Pro housing (JAQ-0007). Secure it at all four mounting points.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly does dual-path mean?
The communicator has two separate routes to the alarm receiving centre: the network in the building and 4G. If one fails, the other stays up. This gives a higher transmission category (DP1 to DP4) than a communicator with IP only.
Is the SIM card included?
Yes, the eUICC SIM card is included in the product. The data bundle runs via the Basic + 4G annual subscription, because the mobile part is included in that.
Do I need a subscription?
Yes. Signalling to the alarm receiving centre goes via Texecom Monitor, and Texecom charges an annual connection fee for this via Texecom Cloud. The variant with 4G goes with this communicator.
Will this work with my existing alarm system?
If your control panel has digital outputs, yes. On a Texecom Premier Elite the connection runs serially and Texecom Connect and Texecom Cloud also become available.
What is the difference from the SmartCom Pro DR?
This one combines network and 4G. The DR uses two mobile modems on two different network operators and therefore does not report over LAN or Wi-Fi.
Is an enclosure included?
No. The EN 50131 enclosure is article JAQ-0007 and is ordered separately.
