A door station that recognises faces
The VTO6631QS-WP is a video door station for a home or a small building. It is mounted at the front door, has a 5-inch screen and recognises residents by their face. Anyone who calls rings the bell, you see who it is on your indoor monitor or your phone, and you open the door.
The difference from an ordinary video doorbell is the access side. This station is also an access control point: residents do not need to get out a key, but walk up to the door and are recognised. Visitors ring the bell as usual.
Four ways to get in
You do not have to choose; they work alongside each other. You set what is permitted for each resident.
| Face | Two lenses check whether it is a real face, not a photo |
| Card or tag | IC and ID cards, held against the reader below the screen |
| Bluetooth | Phone in your pocket, door open without taking it out |
| Code | Numeric code on the touchscreen, useful for a temporary guest |
If you are not at home, the call reaches your phone via the app. You see who is at the door, can talk to them and can open the door remotely.
Ample capacity for a building
The figures given by the manufacturer show that this station is not intended only for a single-family home:
| Users | 20.000 |
| Faces | 20.000 |
| Cards | 100,000 IC and ID cards, 20,000 Bluetooth cards |
| Codes | 20.000 |
| Log | 200,000 events |
One network cable is enough
The station runs on standard PoE, so power and connection run over the same network cable. If there is no PoE, it can also run on 12 VDC at 3 A. Wi-Fi is also available, for an installation where no cable runs to the front door.
For controlling the door, it has an RS-485 port and a Wiegand connection, so the station works with an existing door controller or electric lock.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the QB and the QS?
Only the colour of the housing. The QB is the dark version, which Dahua itself calls dark silver; the QS is the light, silver-coloured one. Otherwise they are identical: the same screen, the same camera, the same capacity and the same connections.
Does the face recognition also work in the dark?
Yes. The station has two lenses and its own lighting, so it also recognises faces in the evening. The second lens also serves to check that a real face is in front of it and not a photo on a phone screen.
Do I need an indoor station?
Not necessarily. You can have the call go only to the app on your phone. An indoor station is useful if there are also people in the house who do not use an app, or if you want to be able to open the door quickly without picking up your phone.
Can I connect it to my existing door opener?
Usually, yes. The station has RS-485 and Wiegand on board and can control an electric lock. Let us know which lock or door controller is installed, and we will look into it with you.
Can it be used without a network cable?
It has Wi-Fi built in, so that is possible. If a network cable is available, choose that: with PoE the power runs over the same cable and the connection is more stable.
