How to store your camera footage
Every Ajax camera can record to a microSD card. If you want to record several cameras centrally and continuously, choose a network video recorder (NVR) with a surveillance drive.
Ajax NVR

Surveillance drive made for continuous recording, day and night. You install it in the NVR.

Frequently asked questions
What does an NVR do?
A network video recorder records the footage from your cameras centrally and stores it on a hard disk. You can view live and recorded footage on a screen or in the Ajax app.
Do I need an NVR?
Not necessarily. Each camera records by itself to a microSD card. An NVR is useful as soon as you want to record several cameras continuously and manage them centrally.
How much storage do I need?
That depends on the number of cameras, the resolution and how long you want to keep footage. A WD Purple surveillance drive is made for continuous writing; choose the capacity based on your retention period.
Are there subscription costs?
No. Recording to an NVR or microSD card requires no subscription and the footage stays with you. Cloud storage is optional.
Does the NVR work with an Ajax Hub?
The NVR works with your Ajax cameras. For notifications in the Ajax app and visual verification of alarms, connect the cameras to an Ajax Hub.
