Texecom SmartCom Pro DR: two modems, two network operators
The SmartCom Pro DR signals over two mobile networks at the same time. Two modems, two roaming SIM cards from different operators: SIM 1 chooses between a Vodafone and a Manx Telecom profile, SIM 2 runs on Telefonica O2. No fixed internet connection is needed, and no single network operator can take down your signalling.
Useful at locations without reliable internet, or where you do not want to depend on the customer's network connection. The alarm panel does not have to be a Texecom: ten inputs read the digital outputs of almost any control panel.
What the SmartCom Pro DR does
Two modems, two operators
Two separate mobile connections via different network operators, with a total of three roaming SIM profiles. This allows the communicator to achieve transmission category DP2 and DP3 without a fixed line, and in effect you have a spare SIM available.
Chooses the best network itself
If a network or data path fails, the communicator connects to an alternative by itself. This happens without anyone having to attend the site.
Private APN and AES 256
Alarm signals and polling travel over the line with AES 256 encryption, with protection against replacement of the communicator. Both roaming eSIMs work on Texecom's own APN, which makes intercepting the SIM or signal more difficult.
Ten inputs, four outputs
Ten standardised inputs with a tamper-protected loop, and four outputs (two open collector, two relay) to which you assign a function yourself.
Remote checking
Via Texecom Cloud you carry out status checks, change settings, trace faults and update the firmware.
Configuration via templates
Signal configuration is done through PINS templates in Texecom Cloud. This saves time and removes most typing errors from the set-up work.
From 10 to 30 volts
Operating range 10 to 30 volts DC. Typically 130 mA at 12 volts, peak 550 mA.
Here, signalling to the alarm receiving centre is by mobile only
The dual path of the DR is provided by the two mobile modems. LAN and Wi-Fi are not supported as signalling channels on this model. If you want a fixed network connection as one of the two paths, choose the SmartCom Pro 4G (CEP-0001).
Which panels it works with
Any panel with digital outputs
The ten standardised inputs read the outputs of your existing control panel. This makes the make of the panel irrelevant: if it has a digital output, you can report it.
Full access on Premier Elite
On a Texecom Premier Elite the connection runs serially. Texecom Connect, Texecom Cloud and remote configuration (UDL) then become available as well.
Fire panels too
The inputs and outputs operate on 10 to 30 volts DC, so the communicator suits a fire alarm panel just as well as an intruder alarm control panel. No additional interface module required.

What you need as well
A connectivity contract
Reporting to the alarm receiving centre runs via Texecom Monitor. Texecom charges for that connection via Texecom Cloud. A 4G-kiezer comes with the Basic + 4G annual subscription, because the SIM card's data bundle is included in it.
An alarm receiving centre
Texecom Monitor works with all major private alarm receiving centres and is available in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom. If you do not yet know which alarm receiving centre to choose, ask us before you order.
An installer
Before commissioning, Texecom requires an installer account in Texecom Cloud with payment details, and an alarm receiving centre that is connected to Texecom Monitor. On a Premier Elite, the firmware must be V6.05 or newer. Connecting and registering is therefore genuine installer work; we can arrange it for you if you wish.
A tamper-resistant enclosure
For EN 50131 and EN 50136, the module must be installed in a tamper-resistant enclosure: in the cabinet of your alarm panel, or in the SmartCom Pro housing (JAQ-0007). Secure it at all four mounting points.
Frequently asked questions
Can I connect the DR to my network?
Not as a signalling channel. On this model, Texecom does not support LAN and Wi-Fi as a signalling path; the dual path is in the two mobile modems. If you want a fixed network connection as a path, choose the SmartCom Pro 4G.
Why two SIM cards from different operators?
Because a fault at one network operator then does not affect all your signalling. The two modems are on different networks, so the chance of both paths failing at the same time is small.
Do I need a subscription?
Yes. Signalling to the alarm receiving centre goes via Texecom Monitor, and Texecom charges an annual connection fee for this via Texecom Cloud. The variant with 4G goes with this communicator.
Will this work with my existing alarm system?
If your control panel has digital outputs, yes. On a Texecom Premier Elite the connection runs serially and Texecom Connect and Texecom Cloud also become available.
Is an enclosure included?
No. The EN 50131 enclosure is article JAQ-0007 and is ordered separately.
