What this camera does
This robust PTZ dome is made for continuous performance in rain and wind. The IP67 housing with Smart Wiper keeps the view clear in rain, dust and snow. The camera rotates extremely fast, automatically follows people or vehicles and, thanks to the combination of 4K resolution and Starlight, delivers a great deal of detail, day and night. Thanks to Hi-PoE, cabling is simple and installation costs stay low. Choosing the SD8A840-HNF-PA means choosing certainty, control and a strong overall value for money.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate power supply?
No, with PoE, power and video run over the same network cable. Your recorder or switch must then supply PoE. If it does not, the camera can run on a separate 12 V power supply.
Can I record without a recorder?
Yes, a microSD card up to 256 GB fits in the camera. Handy for a single camera. If you want to look back further or view several cameras together, a recorder is the better choice.
Can this camera be mounted outdoors?
Yes. The housing is IP67 and therefore suitable for outdoor use. Mount it with screws and plugs, and route the cable through the supplied cable gland so that no moisture reaches the connection.
Does the camera work with my phone?
Yes, with the free Dahua DMSS app you can watch live, play back recordings and receive notifications. The link to the app is under the Downloads tab.
Which mounting parts do I need?
That depends on the surface. The parts that Dahua lists for this model are shown under "Frequently bought together" on this page. If you are unsure, call or email us and we will help you check.
