Ajax FireProtect: wireless smoke and heat detector
Detects smoke and heat and sounds the alarm immediately with an 85 dB siren. Wireless, with pre-installed batteries and easy to mount yourself on the SmartBracket.
You can use the Ajax FireProtect on its own or pair it with your Ajax system. An optical smoke chamber and a heat sensor detect fire at an early stage. In the event of an alarm, the Ajax logo turns red and the built-in siren starts. For notifications in the app or to the alarm receiving centre, add an Ajax hub.
Why the FireProtect
Optical smoke sensor
An infrared emitter and photodetector in the smoke chamber detect smoke at an early stage.
Heat sensor
Responds to a rapid rise in temperature, including fires that produce little smoke.
85 dB siren
Built-in siren. When an alarm is triggered, the Ajax logo turns red.
Battery pre-installed
2x CR2 as main power supply (Ajax states up to 4 years, no minimum) plus a CR2032 as back-up. Pre-installed.
Wireless via Jeweller
Wireless Jeweller connection up to 1300 m in open space. With an Ajax hub, the app tests the range and the smoke chamber remotely.
SmartBracket mounting
Mount without opening the housing. Tamper contact against opening and removal.

FireProtect or the newer FireProtect 2?
The FireProtect is the first generation. The FireProtect 2 is the successor with a bispectral smoke sensor, longer battery life and more choice in power supply.

Both work with the same Ajax system. For a new installation we recommend the FireProtect 2.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an Ajax Hub?
Not necessarily. The FireProtect also works on its own with its built-in siren, and you can link several detectors to each other. For notifications on your phone via the Ajax app or transmission to an alarm receiving centre, you need an Ajax hub. We recommend at least a Hub 2 for easy installation and notifications in the app.
What is the difference from the FireProtect 2?
The FireProtect 2 is the successor with a bispectral smoke sensor (better at ignoring steam), a longer battery life (up to 7 years) and a choice of replaceable, sealed or 230 V power supply. The FireProtect remains available and is more affordable.
Does it also detect carbon monoxide?
No, the standard FireProtect detects smoke and heat. For carbon monoxide, choose the FireProtect Plus or a FireProtect 2 with a CO sensor.
How long does the battery last?
The pre-installed 2x CR2 last up to 4 years, with a CR2032 as backup. The app warns you well in advance.
Does it warn the other detectors?
Yes. If you link several detectors together, the alarm of one detector sets off the sirens of all the others, even without a hub. With an Ajax hub you also receive a notification in the app.
