On 22 April 2024 the consumer programme Radar investigated the security company Verisure following numerous complaints about cancellation problems. Customers reported that they felt it was impossible to end their contract. Although Verisure promised to call back within a few weeks to confirm the cancellation, this often did not happen. Even after months of contact back and forth, during which it seemed that everything had been arranged, customers still received invoices and the problem started all over again.
How do you resolve this?
It is possible to reverse unjustified direct debits yourself. However, bear in mind a few important points. For detailed instructions, see this article from Radar.
How do you prevent this?
At Secures we sell and install alarm systems without a subscription. This amounts to a one-off investment to secure your home. There are subscription options, but these are to keep the system online via a SIM card or for additional support through an alarm receiving centre. With an alarm receiving centre you have a specialised service behind you when an emergency occurs. With us, these types of subscription are optional and can easily be cancelled.
