Build M&C cylinders to size
Choose a series and set each cylinder to the size of your door. All cylinders in the set open with the same key.
- SKG approved with certificate
- Each cylinder its own size
- Made to measure in 1 to 3 working days
Two measurements per cylinder
Measure outside (A) and inside (B) from the centre of the cylinder screw to the flat side of the hardware.
One key for everything
All cylinders in your set open with the same key, including a rim lock or padlock. More than seven cylinders is also possible.
Security Card
Extra keys and cylinders can only be made with your card. This way no one can make a copy unnoticed.
How to build your M&C cylinder set
At Secures you put together a set of M&C cylinders to size yourself. You choose a series, set each cylinder to the size of your door and choose the colour and operation for each door. All cylinders in the set open with the same key. M&C makes the set for you in 1 to 3 working days.
1. Choose a series
From the Matrix 2 with two SKG stars to the Move with a key that cannot be copied. Minos is preselected: three stars, metal key, competitive price.
2. Set each cylinder to size
Set the outside dimension A and the inside dimension B to the size of your door. The drawing adjusts accordingly. For a half cylinder, set the outside dimension to 10.
3. Colour and operation
Nickel, brass or black. On the inside a key, a thumb turn or a knob part for your smart lock. A rim lock, tail cylinder or padlock on the same key is also possible.
4. Keys and ordering
The number of keys grows with the set, and you can order extra keys at the same time. You will see the price of the whole set before you add it to your basket.
Which M&C series suits you
All six series are SKG-approved and work with the M&C Security Card. The difference lies in the key, the protection against core pulling and the colours.
Competitive price. No core-pull protection of its own, so combine it with hardware that does have it. Works together with the Matrix 3 in one locking system.
Caps in 10 colours: you can see at once which key belongs to which door.
Durable key that can be inserted either way up, U-clip against core pulling.
Hardened steel shackle, protected against core pulling, drilling and lock picking. Fits into a master key system with the Matrix 2.
7.5 million key combinations, snake bar and side pins against lock picking. Suitable for large master key systems.
Patented moving part in the key: cannot be copied, not even with a 3D printer. Trap Shark against core pulling.
The price of your set per series is shown at the top of the configurator, on the tile of each series.
Everything about your M&C cylinder set
SKG with two or three stars
Three stars is the highest rating for a cylinder: it is itself protected against core pulling, the most commonly used burglary method for cylinder locks. With two stars, the security escutcheon must shield the core. If your exterior door does not have core-pull-protected hardware, choose three stars. The Matrix 2 is fine for interior doors, the shed or a door with good hardware. Every set comes with the SKG certificate.
How to measure your cylinder
You need two measurements: A outside, on the street side, and B inside, on the room side. Measure both from the centre of the cylinder screw to the flat side of the hardware and note them as outside / inside, for example 32 / 37. If the cylinder protrudes more than 3 mm on the outside, choose a size shorter. With new hardware, measure the door plus the new hardware.
Keyed alike and Security Card
One key opens everything in the set: front door, back door, shed and padlock. More than seven cylinders is possible too; M&C then pins the extra cylinders to the same key, with a small surcharge that you see in Your set. Every set comes with the M&C Security Card. Only with that card can you later have keys or cylinders made, so keep it safe. If you do not want everyone to be able to open every door, choose a master key system: each key then opens only the doors you select.
Key, thumb turn or smart lock
On the inside you can choose a thumb turn instead of a key: this lets you lock the door from the inside without a key. A push knob only turns once you press it in, so it cannot be operated through the letterbox; this is recommended by the Police Label Secure Housing. For a Nuki, Tedee or Danalock, choose the matching knob part.
Rim lock, tail cylinder and padlock
Under Type, for each version you choose a rim lock with cylinder (left or right), a tail cylinder for an existing rim lock, or a padlock with cylinder. The grade 5 padlock is the heavy-duty version for outdoor use. Everything works with the same key. With the Matrix 2, only the padlocks are available.
Single-sided, free-turning and cam
Most doors do not need these options. Free-turning lets the cam turn freely, which is needed with some multi-point locks and panic hardware. Single-sided blocks the outside as soon as a key is in the lock on the inside. You only need a different cam for locks with gear drive or a non-standard cam. Not sure? Call us and we will look at your lock.
Delivery time, returns and warranty
M&C makes your set to order, allow 1 to 3 working days. A standard set (identical cylinders of 32 / 32 mm in nickel, without options) can be returned within 14 days. A made-to-measure set is produced specially for you and falls outside the right of withdrawal. More under delivery time and shipping costs and returns and withdrawal.
Not sure about the size?
Call +31 (0)251 77 00 20 or send us a photo of your cylinder and the hardware. We will check it with you before you order, because a made-to-size set cannot be returned.
A quick answer to your question
Can I later order an extra cylinder or key on the same key?
Yes. With the M&C Security Card that comes with your set, we order extra keys or a cylinder on the same key. Without that card this is not possible; this keeps your key protected against copying. You do this via reorder keys and cylinders: you upload a photo of the card and choose what you want to add.
What is a keyed-alike cylinder set?
A set of cylinders that all open with the same key, for example front door, back door and shed. You then need only one key on your keyring. Each cylinder in the set can have its own size, colour and operation; M&C makes them together on one key. A rim lock or padlock can also be part of the same set.
How do I measure the size of my cylinder?
Do not remove the cylinder from the door; measure it in the lock. Measure from the centre of the cylinder screw in the edge of the door outwards to the flat side of the hardware: that is dimension A. Do the same inwards: dimension B. You note it as outside / inside, for example 32 / 37. If the cylinder protrudes more than 3 mm on the outside, choose a size shorter. In the configurator, the How do I measure? button helps you with a drawing.
How many keys do I get with my set?
With one cylinder you receive 3 keys, with two or three cylinders 5, with four or five 7, and from six cylinders 8 (with the Matrix 2 it stays at 7). The configurator shows the exact number under Keys. You can order extra keys at the same time.
Can I order more than seven cylinders on the same key?
Yes. Above the largest standard set, M&C pins the extra cylinders to the same key. A small surcharge applies per extra cylinder, which you will see as a separate line in Your set. The number of keys then no longer grows; extra keys are ordered separately.
What is the difference between the Matrix 2 and the Matrix 3?
The Matrix 3 has three SKG stars and is itself protected against core pulling, drilling and lock picking. The Matrix 2 has two stars and no core-pull protection of its own; choose it for a door with hardware that already protects the core, or for interior doors. Both have a cut key with a special undercut and work together in one locking system.
What is a half cylinder and when do I need one?
A half cylinder has a key or knob on one side only, for example for a garage door, a meter cupboard or a key switch. You select it by setting the outside measurement A to 10; the inside measurement B is then the length of the cylinder. A half cylinder does not get its own keys; they come with the set.
Will an M&C cylinder fit my lock?
All series here are Euro profile cylinders, the standard in Dutch doors. They fit almost any mortice lock and multi-point lock with a profile cylinder. Only for locks with gear drive or a non-standard cam do you need a different cam; call us if you are unsure.
Can I choose different colours in one set?
Yes. You choose the colour per cylinder, so black on the front door and nickel in the shed can be part of the same keyed-alike set. Which colours are available differs per series.
Can I return the set if the size is wrong?
A made-to-measure set is produced specially for you and is therefore excluded from the right of withdrawal. Please measure carefully, or call us before you order: we are happy to help. A standard set of 32 / 32 mm in nickel without options can be returned. For how this works, see returns and withdrawal.
How long will it take for my set to arrive?
M&C makes the set after your order. Allow 1 to 3 working days. You will receive an email with Track & Trace as soon as it is on its way. Shipping costs and delivery are covered under delivery time and shipping costs.
Does an M&C cylinder work with a Nuki, Tedee or Danalock?
Yes. Under Operation, choose the knob part for your smart lock; the cylinder is then prepared for that Nuki, Tedee or Danalock. The smart lock itself is ordered separately, for example a Tedee PRO. The outside continues to work with the key.
