Card reader for Mifare cards
A card reader module for the VTO4202 series that works with IC cards at 13.56 MHz, better known as Mifare. Residents hold their card up to the reader and the door opens.
What you can count on
- IC cards at 13.56 MHz: the common standard for access cards
- Reading distance of 1 to 3 centimetres: the card must therefore be held right up against it
- Power supply via the main module: 5 volts, supplied by the adjacent module, so no connection of its own
- Aluminium: silver finish, IK07 and IP65
What to look out for
This module belongs to the VTO4202 series, which works on IP with PoE or 2-wire. For the VTO4103 series there is a separate version with the same function. So first check which main module you have or are choosing.
The IP65 rating only applies once the housing has been sealed with silicone sealant during installation.

Frequently asked questions
Will my existing cards work with this?
That depends on the type. This reader works at 13.56 MHz; 125 kHz cards do not work with it, for those you need the MR1. Let us know what you have and we will check.
What if someone loses their card?
You remove that card from the system and issue a new one. The lost card then no longer works.
Does this module need its own power supply?
No. The modules receive 5 volts from the main module via the small cables between them. You only connect the main module.
Is an enclosure included?
No. You choose the housing based on the total number of modules in your setup, and you order it separately. Let us know how many modules you have and we will find the matching one.
