Card reader for ID cards
A card reader module for the VTO4103 series that works with ID cards at 125 kHz. This is the older standard, useful if a card system is already in use.
What you can count on
- ID cards at 125 kHz: the older standard, still widely used
- Reading distance of 1 to 3 centimetres: the card must therefore be held right up against it
- Power supply via the main module: 5 volts, supplied by the adjacent module, so no connection of its own
- Aluminium: silver finish, IK07 and IP65
What to look out for
This module belongs to the VTO4103 series, which works on 2-wire hybrid. For the VTO4202 series there is a separate version with the same function. Check first which main module you have or are choosing.
The IP65 rating only applies once the housing has been sealed with silicone sealant during installation.

Frequently asked questions
Why 125 kHz and not Mifare?
Because cards that work on that frequency are already in circulation. If you are starting from scratch, the MR at 13.56 MHz is the more modern choice.
Can I combine both readers?
A single installation can hold several modules, so this is possible. Whether it is practical depends on how many different cards are in circulation.
Does this module need its own power supply?
No. The modules receive 5 volts from the main module via the small cables between them. You only connect the main module.
Is an enclosure included?
No. You choose the housing based on the total number of modules in your setup, and you order it separately. Let us know how many modules you have and we will find the matching one.
