Frequently asked questions
Can this camera see in the dark?
Yes. Thermal imaging works on temperature differences and needs no light. You can see where something or someone is, but not faces or number plates: for those, install a standard camera alongside it.
What do you use temperature measurement for?
For monitoring installations: a switch cabinet, a battery storage unit, a charging area or a waste bunker. The camera raises an alarm as soon as a location becomes warmer than the limit you set. It is intended for technical use and not for measuring body temperature.
How far can it see?
That depends on the lens and on what you want to see: detecting something is possible over a much greater distance than recognising someone. The datasheet contains a table of distances for people and vehicles for each model. Tell us what you want to monitor and we will work it out with you.
