Dahua HFW71242H-Z-X ePoE 12MP D/N IR Deeplight WDR Bullet 2.7-12mm Motorised Zoom Lens
The Dahua HFW71242H-Z-X delivers razor-sharp images, day and night. Thanks to Full-Color Deeplight, you see in colour 24/7, while WizMind AI filters out unwanted notifications. With the motorised zoom lens (2.7-12 mm), you zoom in directly for exactly the right view. With ePoE, you can easily run long cable distances without extra converters.
What this camera does
The HFW71242H-Z-X combines a 12MP Ultra HD sensor with advanced DeepLight colour technology and powerful WDR. The result: clear, high-contrast images in difficult lighting conditions such as backlight or dusk. The WizMind AI algorithm (deep learning) recognises people and vehicles, so you receive only the notifications that matter. The flexible power supply (ePoE/PoE+/12VDC/24VAC) and support for microSD up to 512GB make installation simple. Via the app, you receive push notifications with snapshots directly for quick verification.
- 12MP Ultra HD detail and Full-Color Deeplight for 24/7 colour images, even in very low light.
- WizMind AI (deep learning): smart detection with person/vehicle classification and accurate alerting.
- 2.7-12 mm motorised zoom with autofocus: quickly set the ideal viewing angle from the app or recorder.
- Powerful WDR for clear images in backlit conditions, shop windows and entrances.
- Real-time notifications via the app for quick alarm verification.
- Storage on microSD up to 512GB: record locally without an extra recorder (or as a backup).
- ePoE for long distances over existing UTP cabling: up to 300 m at 100 Mbps (depending on PoE power).
- Up to 800 m at 10 Mbps with an ePoE switch/recorder.
- Use CAT5e/CAT6, with a maximum resistance of 10Ω per 100 m.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate power supply?
No, with PoE, power and video run over the same network cable. Your recorder or switch must then supply PoE. If it does not, the camera can run on a separate 12 V power supply.
Can I record without a recorder?
Yes, a microSD card of up to 512 GB fits in the camera. Convenient for a single camera. If you want to review footage over a longer period or view several cameras together, a recorder is the better choice.
Can this camera be mounted outdoors?
Yes. The housing is IP67 and therefore suitable for outdoor use. Mount it with screws and plugs, and route the cable through the supplied cable gland so that no moisture reaches the connection.
Does the camera work with my phone?
Yes, with the free Dahua DMSS app you can watch live, play back recordings and receive notifications. The link to the app is under the Downloads tab.
Which mounting parts do I need?
That depends on the surface. The parts that Dahua lists for this model are shown under "Frequently bought together" on this page. If you are unsure, call or email us and we will help you check.
