Is an alarm system with WiFi reliable enough?
What happens if the WiFi goes down?
We recommend always connecting an internet cable to the central control panel. All devices of the Ajax alarm system use their own communication between them, which does not run via WiFi. Your system therefore keeps working, even if the WiFi fails.
Does the system also have a SIM card or back-up connection (4G/ethernet)?
If your entire internet connection (both WiFi and wired) fails, you can use an M2M SIM card as a back-up to keep the system connected to the alarm centre or app. This way, even during a fault or sabotage, you remain assured of notifications and security.
How quickly do I receive notifications?
With the Ajax alarm system you receive notifications within a few seconds of a detection. Thanks to the fast Jeweller communication technology (signal delay of up to 0,15 seconds) and instant push notifications via the Ajax app, you are informed of a break-in, tampering or fault almost immediately.

Can I add extra sensors, cameras or smoke detectors later?
Yes, it is certainly possible to add extra devices or accessories later. New products are released regularly (such as the new Ajax cameras). These components are easy to add to your security system.
Are the components wireless, or will I still have to drill?
All components from Ajax Systems are wireless. Some parts of the system do need to be mounted, which requires drilling a small hole for fixing.
WiFi alarm system without subscription
We only sell alarm systems without a subscription. When you buy an alarm system, it is your alarm system (unlike with other providers). This means that subscriptions are optional with us and that your security remains optimal, even if you cancel. We have the following options:
With a SIM card you have an alternative internet connection. Does your internet at home go down (both WiFi and wired)? Then it is useful to have a back-up connection. A SIM card subscription costs €3,50 per month with us.
An alarm receiving centre is a professional service that has access to your alarm system. When an alarm notification comes in, they guarantee alarm follow-up. In the case of a verified notification, they can even dispatch the emergency services for you. This means you are not on your own in an emergency.
