Choose razor-sharp certainty with the Dahua HFW7842H-Z-X. This 8MP 4K bullet camera delivers a clear colour image day and night thanks to Full-Color Deeplight. Combined with WizMind AI and powerful WDR technology, you get a reliable image, instant notifications and smart detection that counts.
What this camera does
The Dahua HFW7842H-Z-X makes security simple and effective. The motorised zoom lens (2.7-12 mm) zooms in smoothly without loss of quality, so you see exactly what matters. WizMind AI recognises people and vehicles, so you only receive a notification for real events. Thanks to True WDR, the image stays clear, even with backlighting or bright floodlights. And with ePoE/PoE+ you save on installation costs and cabling, while still being assured of stable power and data.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate power supply?
No, with PoE, power and video run over the same network cable. Your recorder or switch must then supply PoE. If it does not, the camera can run on a separate 12 V power supply.
Can I record without a recorder?
Yes, a microSD card of up to 512 GB fits in the camera. Convenient for a single camera. If you want to review footage over a longer period or view several cameras together, a recorder is the better choice.
Can this camera be mounted outdoors?
Yes. The housing is IP67 and therefore suitable for outdoor use. Mount it with screws and plugs, and route the cable through the supplied cable gland so that no moisture reaches the connection.
Does the camera work with my phone?
Yes, with the free Dahua DMSS app you can watch live, play back recordings and receive notifications. The link to the app is under the Downloads tab.
Which mounting parts do I need?
That depends on the surface. The parts that Dahua lists for this model are shown under "Frequently bought together" on this page. If you are unsure, call or email us and we will help you check.
