The foundation your camera system runs on
A camera system or IP intercom is only as reliable as the network beneath it. Here you will find the cabling, connectors, PoE injectors and converters to connect everything reliably.
If you are looking for a switch to provide power and network to multiple cameras, see the network switches.
What you will find here
Cables, PoE and converters
UTP network cable and connectors form the link between camera, switch and recorder. For outdoor use or longer distances, pay attention to the right quality and shielding.
With a PoE injector you power a single camera over the network cable without a full PoE switch. Useful for one or a few remote cameras.
Converters bridge differences: from coax to network, from fibre to copper, or to cover a long distance that is not possible with ordinary UTP. If you are unsure what you need, we will help you decide.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about network products
What is the difference between a PoE injector and a PoE switch?
A PoE injector adds power to the network cable of one camera. A PoE switch does this for several cameras at once and also distributes the network. For one camera an injector is sufficient; for several, a switch is more practical.
Which network cable do I need?
For most camera installations, CAT5e or CAT6 UTP is sufficient. For outdoor use or longer runs, choose a cable that is suitable for that purpose. Check the maximum distance; beyond approximately 100 metres you will need a switch or converter.
Can I connect an IP camera over coax?
With the right converter this is possible: it converts the network signal so that your existing coax cable remains usable. This means you do not always have to run new UTP.
